Wolfburn Distillery's fourth small-batch release, named Batch 155. Consisting of just 5300 bottles in total, it is the first whisky from Wolfburn to have been matured in one type of cask (first-fill ex-bourbon barrels for close to five years) then finished in another (six months in port hogsheads).
The results are superb: a smooth, rich, easy drinking whisky, rich in colour and with a depth of sweet flavours from the port influence. Like previous Wolfburn small-batch releases, Batch 155 was named after the warehouse in which the casks were matured (Warehouse 1), and the specific row in which the casks were located (row 55).

Unit price perThis is one of our best Pinot Noirs under $25 and consistently exceptional drinking at this price, thanks to fruit forward flavours of red cherries which are underpinned by refreshing acidity kept in balance by an under tow of savoury, earthy flavours.
It's made by Martinborough winemaker John Douglas, who owns a small vineyard on Te Muna Road, 9 kilometres west of Martinborough village. This four hectare plot of organically certified vineyard land is home to the grapes that go into this excellent Pinot Noir, which over delivers on value, flavour and style.
Te Muna Valley has the same stony soils as vineyards the better known vineyards around Martinborough village. It also has a slightly windier, slightly cooler climate, both factors that combine to make for challenges in the volume of grapes produced but exceptional depth of flavour in the great wines from this valley.

Unit price perSmooth, dark and full bodied blend of four Portuguese red grape varieties. Castelão, Camarate, Tinta Miúda and Preto Martinho combine to make this wine rich, dark and fruity in flavour with its dry, spicy style. If you had to name a modern European country, Portugal may be one of the last places to spring to mind but wines like these highlight a new wave of wines now pouring out of this most western European country. And best of all, most of them are made using traditional, indigenous, little known grapes that have always grown in Portugal, such as the four that make up this beautiful robust, smooth, velvety red.

Unit price perAlpha Domus winery was founded in 1989 and its name is an anagram of the owners' names, Anthonius, Leonard, Paulus and Henrikus. Domus is Latin for home.
They named this soft, chocolatey and plush Merlot after the classic 1932 Fox Moth aircraft, which helped open the world up to travel and adventure. This dry, smooth and full bodied red also opens up new worlds of flavour and shows why Merlot is the most planted red grape in Hawke's Bay - it works a treat there.

Unit price perThere's a saying "plant pears for your heirs", which is why several years after grafting over to perry pears, we still have a limited crop. For our 2021 vintage, we have blended these tannin bombs with Taylor's Gold pears and added a few Egremont Russet apples to bring a little acidity to the blend.
The result is a smooth, creamy perry with a modest natural sweetness.
Fruit: Perry pear (unidentified), Taylor's Gold, Egremont Russet
Residual sugar: 9g/l
Aged: 6 months in oak and steel
5.7% ABV.

Unit price perTrois Monts refers to three hills in Flanders: Mont Noir, Mont Cassel and Mont de Cats.
3 Monts is a great example of a classic pale biere de garde, pouring a medium-gold with a fluffy white head. Fresh zesty hops give it a big nose full of citrus and hay notes. On the palate there is a heap of grassy hop flavour, sweet rich pale malt character and a firm bitter finish. The full bodied malty palate gives way to a bitter finish.
