Quite aromatic, with balanced American oak notes. Floral, malty, grassy, vanilla and honey with hints of tobacco and nutmeg.

Dry and spicy with a warming gingery honeyed tail.
A second addition to the INK #3 series marketed by French Retailer, Le Comptoir Irlandais is this toddler Blair Athol. While the distillery's production is primarily intended for Bell's, indies are on the rise. This one from Signatory Vintage was distilled in 2013 and filled into a rechar hogshead (a reconstituted & re-burnt cask). Akin to a malt-heavy blend, it's softer than usual for Blair Athol, offering vanilla and fruit salad on the nose as well as hints of beeswax. Likewise, the mouthfeel surprises: supple and slightly oily with flavours of barley cake, grain store and pineapple pudding, before wood spices rise in the medium long finish

This is a single cask bottling of single malt from Speyside's Glenlivet distillery, bottled in November 2016 with an outturn of 558 bottles (originally released for the German market). This was bestowed the name Cairn na Bruar, taken from a Scottish hill which served as a landmark on smuggling routes back in the day.
Nose: Honey'd sultanas and raisins, peanut brittle and vanilla sponge.
Palate: Nutty at first, with layers of hazelnut cream and diced almond. A hint of ground nutmeg.
Finish: Banana chips and more baking spices.
Dalwhinnie Winter's Gold is a 2015 addition to the Highland distillery's range inspired by the chilly climate up in the remote part of Scotland where their single malt Scotch whisky is distilled - as the label remarks, it was "Crafted by the Cold". It's made only with spirit that has been distilled between October and March, and interestingly enough, they suggest that you try serving this expression frozen!

This double cask bottling was finished in sherry casks and bottled at 52%.
This double-cask bottling from Aberfeldy?s Exceptional Cask Series has a nose full of dark fruits, toffee, figs, Christmas cake, and muted spices. Unit price perEvery drop in this bottle is labour of love. The whisky is aged in both Pedro Ximenez Oloroso seasoned casks and refill ex-bourbon casks, for the honey notes and nutty intensity. The taste is a hive of activity full of soft cooked apples, luscious brown sugar, hints of creamy coffee and roasted nutty notes. This is ambrosial decadence worth savouring.
Dimple 15 Year Old is a deluxe blended Scotch Whisky produced at the oldest surviving Scotch Whisky distillery in Scotland. First released in the early 1890's this modern and peaty whisky is just as famous for its triangular, dimpled bottle. Hundreds of years of mastering distillation perfection have led to the Dimple 15 that distinguished and glamorous whisky aficionados worldwide attest to as an unrivalled favourite. Dimple 15 is a unique blend of meticulously handpicked 15 year old Scotch Whiskies, with the much adored Glenkinchie featuring strongly. The result is a refined and harmoniously well-balanced blend in possession of great complexity with woody aromas and a mellow palate.
Distilled on 4th October 1984, this version will blow you away with its complexity, presence and generosity. The breadth and depth of this Glenlossie's palette of aromas and flavours are quite simply extraordinary.
The concentrated initial nose is roasted (coffee), fruity (black grape) and chocolate. Initially mineral, it gradually becomes medicinal (camphor). The elegant attack pays tribute to malted barley. The mid-palate is a real sweet treat (strawberry cream cake). The silky finish wavers between aromatic plants and autumn shades (chestnut). The retronasal olfaction is mentholated .

Unit price perFollowing on from Glenmorangie's A Tale of Cake, the magnificent distillery has gone and created A Tale of Winter. Director of whisky creation Dr. Bill Lumsden wanted to evoke the feeling of winter, of sitting in front of a fireplace while the snow fall outside, and to do so, he finished a bourbon barrel-matured single malt in ex-Marsala wine casks. All those rich, comforting, chocolatey notes certainly put this one in the 'winter warmer' category.
Nose: Honeycomb, chocolate digestives, fragrant lavender, sultana, and cinnamon.
Palate: Cocoa, Brazil nuts, vanilla tablet, jammy red berry sweetness developing, crystallised ginger.
Finish: Spicy ginger remains, mellowed by vanilla and chocolate mousse.
This ultra-rare single vintage Dalwhinnie has an astonishing bright intensity for its age and comes uniquely from refill American oak hogsheads, all of which were casked in 1989. Three decades of maturity have bought a fine elegance to the vibrant distillery character, allowing its moorland aromas to peak. The result is smoothly sweet, yet also surprisingly peppery
