This beautiful, deep russet brew is dominated by a chocolate and brown sugar maltiness with hints of vanilla and nuts, producing a very smooth, well-balanced, and quaffable brown ale. Originally named Elle's Brown Ale after Adam Avery's beloved chocolate lab, however one Cease and Desist letter from a certain fashion publication later, this classic American Brown Ale was renamed as Ellie. Elle didn't mind. Ellie's Brown Ale has all the characteristics of its namesake; friendly, mellow, and a little nutty. As Adam's best friend, she came with him to work everyday and was a steadfast companion for all his climbing adventures. Elle is missed, but she lives on in this beer as the mascot on the label.

Maui's Coconut Porter is a classic robust porter spiced with all natural toasted coconut. It is black in color and crowned with a creamy, dark tan head.

Almanac - Grand Cru White is an ode to our favorite aromatic white wines. We combined California Muscat Blanc grapes with an imperial version of our Farmer’s Reserve sour blonde base and fresh, locally-grown apricots before aging them for over a year in French oak barrels.

The result is a deeply fragrant hybrid that captures the Northern California terroir and seamlessly melds the complex tartness of a Belgian-inspired sour ale with the sun-ripened boldness of white wine grapes. Torpedo Extra IPA takes its name from the device that Sierra Nevada invented to dry hop the beer adding aromatic oils to the conditioning brew without adding undue bitterness. Torpedo IPA utilizes Magnum, Crystal and the new Citra hop varieties in the whole cone form. Torpedo pours a brilliant gold with a healthy white head. On the nose there are complex layers of tropical fruit, grapefruit, orange, black pepper, and a herbaceous green note. In the mouth the beer is a raging advertisement for American hops, layers of citrus and piney resin are built upon a solid malt backbone. Finally there is a long dry finish. This is the ultimate beer for spicy cuisine. 

Try it with a Thai curry or spicy barbequed food.

Brewed since 1992, this golden beer opens with a bold blast of spicy Noble hops, courtesy of Saaz and Hallertau Mittelfruh, and gives way to fruity aromas from our traditional Belgian yeast.
