Westie Sponge Three is a 1st fill sherry butt of 1999 Springbank. Fully matured in Campbeltown for 24 years and bottled at natural cask strength.
This is a particularly powerful and rugged example of Springbank. Very coastal and salty, with a leathery, nutty and almost tarry sherry profile, and then layers of familiar waxiness, mineral oils and soft, background peat smoke underneath. The whole thing is drenched in distillery character and is beautifully evocative of the west highlands.
Nose: Tarred leather, smoked walnuts, aged pipe tobacco, and dried dark fruits lead into fresh salinity and classical Springbank character.
Nutty, drying, and earthy old sherry blends seamlessly with waxiness and soft, peppery peat smoke in the background.
Palate: A remarkable texture with waxy, tarry richness. Flavours of mineral oil, sandalwood, cured meats, candied citrus peels, and walnut wine evolve into coastal notes of smoked olive oil, salted almonds, and herbal peat reminiscent of eucalyptus and cough syrup.
Finish: Exceptionally long, balancing medicinal and umami elements with squid ink, ointments, tar liqueur, resinous fir wood, and camphor. The fresh, coastal aftertaste lingers gloriously.

From a single refill hogshead of 1994, 30 year old Springbank, bottled at natural cask strength. This one is totally distillate driven and a spectacular demonstration of raw, pure, mature Springbank distillery character. Evocative, deep, nuanced and complex old Springbank of real beauty.
Launched in 1968 as the first distillery expression of cask strength whisky, Glenfarclas' 105 has always been made by balancing a selection of ex-sherry casks, whose combined natural strength is exactly 60% ABV - 105 British proof. This new limited edition 105 has been made from casks that have matured for 16 years, with the classic Glenfarclas flavours of butterscotch, lashings of Christmas spices and rich, long-lasting dried fruit and woody tones.

Unit price perSelecting similar quantities of contrasting cask types – nine first-fill European sherry seasoned oak hogsheads, eight ex-bourbon hogsheads, and nine refill hogsheads – gives the November 2019 Release of Highland Park 21 Year Old single malt whisky an impressively rounded and unique flavour. As the warm spices and rich dried fruit flavours of the European casks mingle with the sweeter, exotic fruit notes from the ex-bourbon hogsheads, the softer influence of the refill casks finishes off the harmony.
Bottled at its marrying strength of 46%, this exceptionally well-balanced whisky delivers notes of freshly-cut pineapple, ripe mango, juicy pears, sun-dried sultanas, dried exotic fruit, spice market aromas and curls of densely aromatic peat smoke.

Unit price perOban Little Bay uses whisky matured in refill American oak hogsheads, European oak Sherry casks and refill casks with new ends for this expression before allowing the resultant single malt whisky to marry in small oak casks. This has resulted in a rich whisky with notes of stone fruit, spice and honey.

Unit price perAt Dalwhinnie, clear worts and long ferments create a starting point form which one might expect a light floral whisky. However, the stills are run in such a way as to minimise the conversation between malt and copper, and when this is combined with the use of worm tubs to condense, the result is a heavy and somewhat sulphurous malt. After fifteen years in cask though, this is combined into the whisky, and the thick honeyed and almost sticky quality that Dalwhinnie is so famous for, shines through.
Nose: Aromatic, toffee, fruit salad, lush nectarine, custard. Floral, apple blossom, honeysuckle. Apple peels, pear, touch of smoke.
Palate: Malty. Walnuts steeped in manuka honey with vanilla sponge. Gentle smoke weaves its way through the cereal with a touch of spice.
Finish: Long, malty, walnut, almond.
Triple Wood is a continuation of Glenturret's history, part of the old range and reborn in the new. A thoughtful combination of European and American Sherry Oak casks alongside Bourbon barrels gives a light and subtle whisky showcasing the sweet, fruity style of the new make spirit. The three cask types have carefully nurtured the spirit, adding a depth of character and a rich, golden colour.
Tasting Notes:
Aged in AMERICAN and EUROPEAN SHERRY casks and BOURBON barrels, Sweet FRUIT and CARAMEL flirt with sticky GINGER cake and VANILLA, maturing OAK and light SPICES look on with interest from the side lines.

Unit price perStraddling the line bewteen Highland and Lowland Malts - the distillery is in the Highlands, but the warehouse is in the Lowlands. They also reckon they have the slowest distillation in Scotland - grab a bottle and see what slow distillation tastes like. Glengoyne 10 is a lightish, fruit and nut style whisky - they type that will please everyone, but might not blow the socks off a hardened Islay drinker (but that's why we have Ardbeg). Matured in sherry and refill sherry, and bottled at 40%;

Unit price perLoch Lomond Group - Named after an island rich in meadow and woodland, our 18 Year Old has a strong oak character, with hints of summer grass, tropical fruit and zesty citrus notes. Our Master Cooper back then was Tommy Wallace, who carefully selected the finest casks to mature the liquid in for a minimum of 18 years allowing time and nature to bring out the sweeter character of the wood.
