Matawhero Winery, founded in Gisborne in 1968 by pioneering viticulturist Bill Irwin, helped transform New Zealand wine through innovative vineyard plantings.

Today, owned by Richard and Kirsten Searle, the estate champions expressive, dry-farmed wines, producing richly textured Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Chenin Blanc, Pinot Gris and elegant reds that reflect Gisborne's warm maritime terroir.

Join Kirsten Searle as she presents Gewurztraminer, Chenin Blanc, and a trio of Chardonnays before finishing on a sun-drenched single vineyard Merlot.
