Bottled from a refill hogshead, with an Oloroso finish, the aroma of this Glen Garioch is like breakfast on a cold Scottish morning, with warm porridge, sweet berries and brown sugar. The palate takes a sweet dessert like turn, with notes of custard and tart cherries served alongside baked apples. Grilled citrus notes linger on towards the end of the palate.

This Linkwood, bottled from a single Oloroso butt is a perfect winter warmer dram. There are notes of warm apple cider and zesty citrus on the nose, before notes of sweet toasted oak, and sweet honey join on the palate, the sweetness continues on towards the end of the palate, with a rather malty finish.

Colour / Appearance: Mid straw yellow with bright clarity.

Aroma / Bouquet: Stonefruit, citrus, herbs, and florals with a background of oak and malolactic ferment derived creaminess. 

Palate: Medium bodied and textural with enticing flavours of peach, melon, lemon and dried herbs.  The oak influence envelopes the palate with pleasing mouthfeel and texture.  

Cellaring:  We expect the wine will drink at its optimum in the immediate 5-7 years following Spring 2024. However, the wine has the structure and closure to allow continued development with careful cellaring.

Food Match: Delicious with lemon and herb chicken, goats’ cheeses and smoked or grilled seafood dishes.

Serve: Lightly chilled.

Colour / Appearance: Bright, elegant rose-gold in colour from 24 hours juice skin contact.

Aroma / Bouquet: Freshly cut stonefruit such as nectarine and apricot, and overlapping notes of rose petal, white florals and baking spice on the nose.

Palate: Juicy core of ripe nectarine, pear and baking spices, with a gentle twist of orange zest. Dry to taste, this wine is full in body and finishing with fine, peppery tannins.

Cellaring:  We recommend drinking our 2024 Skin Contact Pinot Gris while it is young and fresh, but the wine can develop nicely beyond five years if carefully cellared.

Food Match: This Pinot Gris is made to be enjoyed with food.  We recommend dishes featuring richer seafoods, mushrooms, light game and poultry.

Serve: Lightly chilled.

Colour / Appearance: Pale-straw yellow.

Aroma / Bouquet: The wine possesses a unique aromatic profile, reflecting where it is grown – the essence of terroir. Lifted and refined, with floral characteristics, white stone fruit and subtle crystalline, flinty and earthy undertones.  

Palate: Concentrated yet delicate, a thread of mineral salinity, reminiscent of river stones, runs through the palate. The distinct mineral structure supports complex stone fruit and citrus flavours. Vibrant acidity carries the wine to a long, flinty finish.  

Cellaring:  Enjoy now for its freshness and purity, or cellar for 5-7 years to reveal richer, more complex flavours and a silky texture.

Food Match: The wine’s vibrant acidity and mineral backbone pair seamlessly with fresh seafood such as oysters, seared scallops or simply grilled fish. The textural depth of the palate would also compliment roasted chicken dishes, creamy risotto, or soft-ripened cheeses.

When Erni Loosen rediscovered the remarkable quality and longevity of his ancestors' dry Rieslings, he set about reviving the culture and techniques of his family heritage. The GG Réserve wines are selectively harvested from the best parcels of very old, ungrafted vines in Grand Cru vineyards. They are fermented naturally, like traditional GG Rieslings, but mature for 24 months without filtration or fining on the lees in traditional oak casks. This is followed by a further 48 months of bottle aging before release. This extended maturation period lends the wines an additional dimension of finesse and balance, perfectly expressing the unique terroir of each individual vineyard.

Its fresh and ripe blackcurrant nose is marked by aromas of spices. A frank, fresh and dense attack on the palate makes it a very delicious wine. Its beautiful length brings with it bewitching aromas of garrigue and reveals very sweet tannins. Powerful and pure in the mouth with a very elegant, fruity palate. Ready to drink, or even better with age.

Grapes: 60% Grenache, 40% Syrah

Terroir: Pebble soils from the Rhône.

Winemaking: Fermentation in stainless tank with temperature control, and aged in concrete.

Mirroring the West Coast of the good ole U.S. of A. this fresh little number is bound to delight. With a strong fresh citrus and sweet tropical fruits dance in your mouth and combine with caramel and toffee to wrap it all together.Tasting notes: Toasted caramel, USA hops, bold, & warming.

When it comes to Hazy IPAs, we love 'em juicy, session-worthy and full of flavour. Mellow fellow is smooth, quenching and to the point. Like a tropical getaway,  sometimes you just need to Mellow my Fellow.

Light malts make a mellow base. Sabro in the whirlpool, Idaho Seven and Citra Dry Hopped bringing massive notes of tropical fruit, citrus and hints of pine.

DOUBLE VISION- "A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men." So take a break and treat yo’ self we’re nothing like a F****ng elf. They make toys and we make beer, so which one really brings more cheer? You know the answer now and then but might forget if you have ten. 440mls of Porter’s Might will bring you chocolate orange delight.

Flavours: Enjoy a grist of American Ale, Jumbo Oats, Crystal, Light Chocolate, Biscuit, Brown, Munich and Eclipse Malts. Add a dose of Lactose for a touch of sweetness and body. Next, throw in a ton of pureed oranges. The result is a complex, delicious and moreish treat for the adults in the house.

An ongoing series of occasional one-off releases inspired by the nice ideas captured in our Lyall Bay Brewery.

 José Luis Ripa is a fan of more 'serious' rosés (think Pibarnon, Trevallon, Tempier and the poster child of extended ageing Viña Tondonia).  His day job is commercial director at a well known winery in Haro, but in 2016 he managed to get hold of some old-vine fruit from the Najerilla Valley, a tributary of the Ebro, and made his first vintage of Ripa Rosado. The wine is mainly Garnacha with a touch of Tempranillo, the must is drawn-off slowly, then fermented and aged for 18-24 months in large oak vats, called bocoyes in Rioja. He only made 3,000 bottles in the first year, he's gradually increasing that, without losing the artisan vision of the project. After all, he has his wife María José López de Heredia to keep him focused!

A little deeper and probably more lactic than the 2019, but a little less exuberant. There are more dried herbs and minerals, with dried grapefruit and a touch of Aperol. Unique in style, which makes you think of a young Lopez de Heredia rosado (and you wouldn't be surprised if you find who makes this). Textured, full and harmonious despite higher alcohol. Cheerful and unassuming at the same time.
