Unit price perMuros Antigos Escolha is made from a selection of three excellent white grape varieties: Alvarinho, Loureiro and Avesso. The grape variety Alvarinho cames from the sub-region of Monção and Melgaço. Due to the strategic location of the sub-region, there are ideal conditions for the perfect ripening of the grapes. The presence of Alvarinho in Muros Antigos Escolha provides structure and body. The Loureiro grape variety is located in our vineyards in the Lima sub-region with granitic soils, deep and poor in organic matter. Due to the Atlantic influence of this region, the freshness and salinity are well present as well as the floral perfume typical of the grape variety. Regarding Avesso grape variety from the in Baião region, in the border between the continental climate of the Douro Valley and the maritime influence of Douro Litoral. The soils are dry and poor, granitic sandy loam soils. These characteristics will produce a wine with an acidity and minerality unique, from which we single out a profound balance between acidity, minerality and alcohol content which will deeply improve Muros Antigos Escolha.

The 2024 vintage:
A warm harvest year with average but irregular rainfall. A mild, rainy winter was followed by a similarly warm spring. The growing cycle was long, supported by sufficient soil moisture that allowed for normal vine growth and development. The typically hot, dry summer was followed by a harvest period marked by cooler temperatures in September and some rainfall in October. A year of above-average yields, with grapes in excellent phytosanitary condition and high quality potential.
Harvest & Vinification:
The grapes were carefully selected upon arrival at the winery, and fermentation took place at low temperatures (16ºC) to enhance the fresh, floral fermentation aromas.

Unit price perVacqueyras has always played second fiddle to Chateauneuf but the wines are finally starting to get the credit they deserve and this full bodied, deep and complex red is an excellent expression of this appellation.
Sang des Cailloux means “blood of the stones,” and the galets ridden nature of the soil comes across in the mineral, stony aspect of this wine which is deep and full of energy and with notes of lavender, red and black fruit and olive. It is ready to drink now but will age gracefully for at least ten to fifteen years.
This wine is made from grapes grown on the elevated Plateau des Garrigues, where the vines are planted on a mixture of red clay, limestone and galets roule - or pudding - stones that are famously found in Chateaunuef.

Unit price perThe Vines in the vineyard are closely planted and have a low fruiting wire, giving very small vines which produce intensely flavoured fruit. Most clones are harvested and fermented separately, except for 15 rows that contain a mixture of the Dijon clones that are treated as one parcel and co-ferment for added complexity.
On the nose aromas of plum dominant with mouth-watering notes of mushroom and forest floor. Sensitive oak handling has added a subtle vanilla and spice aspect.
Palate shows soft and lush, with a fleshy supple palate and fruit driven finish.
This wine will continue to develop for up to 10 years from vintage date.

Unit price perA very interesting story is what started Teusner Wines. After overhearing a couple of grape growers, in their local pub, who were going to be ripping out their 85 year old Grenache vines Kym Teusner and Mick Page offered them four times what they were going to be paid by the ‘big guys’ for the crop. Over the years, Kym and Mick have worked with a number of growers to gain access to a range of old vines in the Barossa Valley. The one thing that hasn’t changed is Kym, Mick and their passion to make the absolute best of the old Barossa Valley vineyards wines.
The wonderful world of wine gives us around 60 or more synonyms for one of our favourite varieties, Mataro, well-known ones such as Mourvedre and Monastrell, lesser known ones such as Balzac and Exparte. We love the mutts at Teusner (dogs can sometimes out-number humans!)… it’s somewhat ironic then that we chose this particular name for Mataro…Estrangle Chien in France …The Dog Strangler in the Barossa.
There’s plenty of dark plum, mulberry fruits and five spice character on this Dog’s nose. Rich, savoury and spicy on the palate…all the stuff that makes us love this variety in abundance.

The Style of the Wine
With its well-defined character, this wine perfectly illustrates the identity of the Nuits Saint Georges vineyard. Complex aromas of blackcurrant mingled with spicy blackberry are revealed on the nose with, depending on the vintage, darker notes of liquorice, leather and blood orange. The well-built mouth affirms itself with density and strength around a tight structure with rich, well-wrapped tannins. It becomes increasingly seductive over time, which comes from the elegance, intensity and purity of the fruit.

- The Clos des Forêts Saint Georges covers the entire geological range of the slopes of Nuits Saint Georges: Ladoix limestone at the bottom, Premeaux limestone in the middle, and white oolite limestone in the upper part, with a marked presence of ochre silt in some places. This Clos is planted entirely to Pinot Noir.
- Traditional vinification: A manual harvest, minimal vatting, pumping over and punching down without excess to reveal the full aromatic range drawn from this great terroir. Ageing lasts on average 15 months in oak barrels, with a maximum of 40% of new barrels, and 3 months in vats before bottling.
- A wine for ageing: the generous terroir of the Clos des Forêts Saint Georges forms the soul of the wine. It builds a solid red around well-present tannins which define a wine for ageing. A few years in the cellar will allow the wine to express itself more fully and make it more graceful, silkier and more complete.
The Terroir
In Burgundy the monopoly (single estate vineyard) defines a unit of land, a terroir which has been perfectly defined for centuries and which is owned by a single proprietor. The Clos des Forêts Saint Georges covers a surface of 7.2 hectares, all in one piece. It is a unique terroir in a privileged location which right from its origin has made one of the greatest Nuits Saint Georges wines.
