Our Mackenzie William Riesling is named after our eldest grandson. Our Eden Valley Riesling is delicately picked from our longstanding vines planted in the 1960s, and 1980s, and from our cherished, deep-rooted 1890s vines – believed to be some of the oldest in Australia. Each batch of fruit bestows its unique attributes, creating quintessential Eden Valley citrus and minerally characteristics which our region is so well known for, and a complexity that ensures our dry style’s impressive length of finish.

What do you get when you cross a Proper Crisp with a Garage Project Beer?  A Beer Crisp and a Crisp and a Crisp Beer, of course!

Out of this collaborative mash-up we bring you a limited edition 'beer inspired' Crisp, made using a blend of spices, a touch of yeast and the finest Nelson grown hops.

Xarel-Lo is famously used in the production of cava along with a few others - but here it is made as a varietal wine from vines planted in 1974 in the high altitude of Penedes.

Fermentation was in stainless steel tanks with fine lees contact for three weeks to retain the fruity freshness and add texture.

The result is a youthful and vibrantly fruited wine with sweet herbal scents and fresh green fennel.

This Riesling was made from fruit grown on mature vines, in the limey clay loams of the Waipara Valley floor ? our younger vines grow well on the lighter gravel soils. Harvest is generally late in the season when the Riesling fruit is ripe and clean as this is ideal for development of tangy ripe flavours, while retaining a crisp freshness. These grapes were harvested while cool, then given a long, slow press. The juice was settled, racked and cool fermentation in stainless steel followed. This has produced a full flavoured Riesling with fresh aromas of citrus, and crisp apple along with hints of ginger and spice. These flavours continue into the palate, forming a juicy wine with a perfect balance between sweetness and tangy acidity.

Food Match This Riesling will develop in the cellar for several years, but is equally delicious now with a wide range of foods- seafood and cuisine with Thai and Japanese influences, or as an aperitif with smoked salmon and avocado. Drink this now or cellar for up to eight years.

Dry northern Italian white from the deliciously different Gruner Veltliner grape variety, the most iconic white grape and wine from Austria, which is just over the border from the Abbazia di Novella winery. This is the oldest winery in Italy and makes outstanding dry wines, white and red. 

The climate tempered by the nearby sea and the characteristics of the karst soil give this Malvasia a personal identity and superb texture. The aging in bottle drives a straw colour and emphasises the aromatic fragrance. The palate is elegant, lively and sumptuously savoury.

An ideal match for seafood and grilled fish in particular.

Ume is a fruit synonymous with Japanese blossom season and thanks to Neville from NZ Yuzu we've had the pleasure of working with Organic Certified Ume grown a stones throw away in the Horowhenua.

Umeko is the result. A six week maceration to extract all aspects of the Ume followed by six months of bottle conditioning to round out the acidity and texture.

The result is complex and progressive - unlike anything we've produced so far. Tasting notes do it no justice so you'll have to open a bottle and see for yourself.

Wild ferment, no additives, bottled live.

Oktoberfest Lagers are strong, malt accented beers traditionally brewed for drinking in quantity in the German autumn. Down here October means spring and these beers work just as well in the turbulent days as Winter gives way to Summer. Fest is brewed with 100% German malt and hops and has been given a long 90 day cold conditioning . The result is malty, a little toasty, a little warming with a dry crisp finish.

5.9% ABV.

A ripe, transparent and flinty style reminiscent of the 2019 Watchmaker. 2021 was another superb growing season and this wine will reward patient wine lovers for 8-10 years from vintage.

Stone fruits, lemon, cedar and gunflint. Bursting with mineral aromas with wonderful transparency on a rich, yet balanced palate. Limes and apricots come through on the palate that has super acidity. The 2021 Watchmaker has less new oak influence than other vintages, but still has the trademark salty zing on the finish.
