The natural ageing process in young oak barrels in Cuba for a number of years gives Havana Club Anejo Especial its warm amber colour and smooth taste.  Aged in this way, it develops a typical touch of vanilla that is perfect for mixing with cola or just with ice.  The best way to savor this special rum is in typical Cuban style - together with your best friends.

Emerson's - One for the hopheads, Bird Dog is full of intense flavours courtesy of American hops to deliver a smooth, resiny beer. Tropical fruit dominates the flavour with subtle fresh squeezed orange with a hint of pine thrown in. Given the name, the astute drinker will note a gratifying absence of any avian or canine aftertaste.

7.0% ABV.

70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre from the Rhone. A rich, well structured wine. Full of plum and stewed fruit aromas. No oak results in pure fruit expression on the palate. 

Mills Reef Winery is based in Tauranga and makes its stellar wines from grapes grown in New Zealand's two biggest wine regions; Marlborough and Hawke's Bay, respectively. 

This dry full bodied and spicy Syrah is made from grapes grown in Hawke's Bay where the warm climate adds weight, spice and ripe fruit flavours. Great drinking and excellent value for money for enjoying now or in the next four to five years.

Yalumba first began making wines at the Angaston winery more than 167 years ago, and the production of fortified wines has long been part of that history. Today, Yalumba maintains its reputation for premium quality fortified wines by occasionally releasing very small parcels of show reserve stocks.

This is classic fortified muscat with a lovely balance of floral, sweet fruits and Xmas cake. Sumptuous stuff with enough acidity to carry it through the palate without becoming cloying. 

Odyssey Wines is owned by winemaker Rebecca Salmond, who sources grapes from a number of different regions. She produces exceptionally good value wines, including this full bodied, creamy big Chardonnay from Gisborne; the fifth biggest wine region in New Zealand - and aptly named the country's Chardonnay Capital.

Light in body, colour and full of fruity fruity flavours in an off dry style; made entirely from 

Martinborough Pinot Noir grapes were lightly pressed into service in a quest to make this lively, light bodied rose, which benefits from the crisp acidity of the Pinot grape, which adds freshness to and length to its fruity flavours. 

Palliser Estate is the first winery on the way into the small town of Martinborough. It's one of the biggest wineries in one of this country's smallest wine regions, the Wairarapa and it makes a wide range of wines, including this incredibly popular rose, made 100% from Pinot Noir grapes grown on the Pencarrow and Pinnacles vineyards.

The grapes were lightly crushed for a pale colour then gently pressed and fermented to dryness at less than 5 grams of residual sugar per litre, which is the technical definition of a dry wine.

Black Ruby Imperial Stout is an English-Style Imperial Stout characterized by layers of dark malt complexity fused with People’s Don Wilfredo coffee beans, Wellington Chocolate Factory Dominican cacao nibs, and raspberries.

Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin is crafted to deliver the best of all worlds: a perfect, classic gin and also something that would fascinate and delight even the most hardened gin fanatic. It’s spicy but with great citrus, a truly modern Australian gin. Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin captures the essence of contemporary Australia’s heritage in Europe and Asia. We’re using whole oranges which is unusual but Australian citrus is highly aromatic and supports the spicier botanicals like cardamom.

The cinnamon and star anise add rich fruitcake tones, the Tasmanian pepperberry leaf provides warmth rather than heat, and the lemon myrtle is a beautiful alternative to lemon peel.

Gracias a Dios Mango is made with agave Espadin in Santiago Matatlan, Oaxaca by maestro mezcalero Oscar Hernandez. As the name of this mezcal indicates, mango is added to the distillate between the first and second distillation. The mangos used in this mezcal were grown on the coast of Oaxaca, where they ripen in the late spring and early summer.

If you are looking for a treat yourself or for the wine lover in your life, here is a Spanish red that will surprise and please in equal measure. 

This full bodied wine has the dark fruit flavours of a Mediterranean wine but is beautifully balanced by the naturally high acidity of the Mencia grape, which provides a sense of freshness to the wine. This fascinating blend of five grapes is mostly Mencia which makes up 90% of the wine with the remaining grapes being Brancellao, Mouton, Souson and Garnacha Tintorera. The wine was aged for 12 months in old French oak barrels. 

Spain is known for its wealth of old vines, mostly grown en vaso (in the shape of a vase) and low to the ground to keep them anchored since there is no trellis they can rely on for support.

These sturdy vines have hefty trunks and, impressively, produce grapes even when they are 100 years of age and older. The fruit tends to taste extremely concentrated and is not exactly plentiful on these old vines, which can yield as low as one to 1.5 kgs of grapes per vine but the results are worth retaining these beautiful, noble and commanding old plants.

This exquisite single malt has been crafted from a combination of unpeated and peated spirit and four cask matured for at least twenty one years in bourbon barrels, sherry casks, virgin oak casks and Bordeaux red wine casks. During long maturation Benriach’s sweet Speyside smoke mellows and integrates with the fruit, malt and oak. After twenty one years, rich layering develops into an elegant honey smoke, enriched through multi-layered cask maturation. The whisky from each cask type, imbued with particular flavour characteristics, is then expertly married together to create a rich and elegant single malt, layered with lush orchard fruit and toasted pine wood with a honey smoke finish. All in perfect balance.

The Greystone wine story began in 2000 when the Thomas Family bought an old sheep farm on the Omihi hills in the Waipara Valley, North Canterbury. The rolling limestone hills lured this family in and their goal was a single minded one: to make great wines from the limestone rich soils here. Fast forward 20 years and Greystone is one of the great (and, some might say, yet to be fully discovered) wineries in this outstanding wine region. Not least due to the work of winemaker Dom Maxwell and general manager Nick Gill, who began working together in 2005 and has grown along with the brand and quality.
