Little Fake is our David to the Goliaths of the Beer World. Coming in at 2.5% ABV, it’s a great beer to enjoy whilst trying to avoid a foggy head. We’ve used all the tricks in the book to make sure this beer has enough body to carry the light and fruity hop character in lieu of the lacking alcohol sweetness. By adding flaked wheat and rolled oats to the mash, along with a high mashing temperature and some canny water chemistry, this beer presents as sweet and balanced with the high level of hops. We’ve also used two of Jesse’s favourite hops here, Nelson Sauvin and Amarillo, along with the juiciest of Mosaic hops to give the beer a hint of pineapple character layered over orange and zingy gooseberry character. It’s fair to say this beer punches above it’s weight as it took out a Gold Medal at the recent Australia International Beer Awards in May.
THE YARN BEHIND THE BREW
Far away in England an art forger called James Edward Little specialised in forgeries of Maori and Pacific art, even though he’d never been near our neck of the woods. He fooled a lot of “experts” and consequently Puke Ariki has the biggest collection of Little Fakes in the world. This session IPA deceives by fronting big Amarillo and Mosaic without the alcohol kick.

Deeply layered and complex, this rich and vibrant whisky delivers beautifully intricate flavours of malted caramel, vanilla, and raisins and lingers with a long, sweet, and pleasantly spicy finish.

Unit price perThis unique expression from Laphroaig combines the unforgettable flavour of our 10 year old whisky with the sweet, aromatic flavours from the Oloroso sherry casks.
This marriage of casks creates a rich, full bodied flavour with notes of Manuka honey, bacon and maple syrup alongside the classic smoke, seaweed and hint of salt that Laphroaig is known and loved for.
The European oak sherry casks are carefully selected to compliment the unique and much-loved taste of Laphroaig. The additional sweetness and character of the Oloroso casks add complexity and balance to create a unique and exciting expression, but one that stays true to the character of Laphroaig.
Clynelish is a delicious and distinctive Single Malt Scotch Whisky from one of Scotland's most northerly distileries, which is situated at Brora on the stormy north east coast.
Aged for 14 years in specially selected oak casks then bottled at a full 46% abv, this is a light yet firm-bodied maritime single malt. Fresh and creamy-smooth on the palate, it has a smoky, sea-spicy character and a very pleasing texture which is highly regarded by malt whisky connoisseurs.
This Aerstone 10 year old Land Cask Single Malt Whisky is produced by William Grant & Sons at the Ailsa Bay Distillery located on the Ayrshire coast of the Scottish Lowlands.
Unlike its whisky counterpart named Sea Cask, Land Cask is matured at a warehouse much further inland, and the use of Highland peat makes it a more sweet and smoky whisky.
Nose: Earthy peat smoke and vanilla pod, with a briney note, black pepper, smoked meats and burnt rubber, with just a touch of fresh fruity sweetness.
Palate: Balanced sweet and smoky notes, with aniseed, burnt brown sugar, charred oak and salted honeycomb. Then there's olive brine, barbecued citrus fruit and smoked meats.
Finish: Sweet and smoky battle it out on the finish, with vanilla fudge and peat smoke alongside dry, spicy oak.

Unit price perNorth End - Just because something is small doesn't mean it won't pack a punch. The little, delicate, dried flowers of the hibiscus plant are a case in point as they lend a pungent, fruity character, and deep pink colour when added to beer. The same can be said of Petit Luna. Hibiscus, Kaffir lime, spicy Belgian yeast and lactic tartness all brew up to a big refreshing blast of flavour fired by a light, low alcoholic beer.

In the Wallonia region of Belgium brewers continue a tradition of brewing farmhouse ales with the locally grown barley and yeast strains developed over generations. Bones of the Land is our take on these classic farmhouse ales combining malted barley from the Rangitikei with a smack of herbal hop and our own complex farmhouse ale yeast.
