The culmination of our pursuit to tirelessly perfect small-batch Shiraz making is here; meet our new-look Barossa Shiraz hero, Synonymous. Off the back of our recent trophy for Best Shiraz at the Royal Adelaide Wine Show, we felt the timing was right to introduce our most important Shiraz release to date. The new look packaging coincides with the best vintage yet, a product of the benchmark ideal ripening cool season 2021 vintage.

We hear all the time that Synonymous plays more like a wine twice its price thanks to the judicious fruit selection, careful yet minimalist winemaking and fastidious barrel selection - we taste through hundreds to select and make this delicious Shiraz.

It is undoubtedly our best bang-for-buck red wine!

Mitolo's Nessus Shiraz is a rich, dark and smooth wine from McLaren Vale, South Australia. This impressive wine is all about rich, ripe, dark fruit flavours held captive in a soft and smooth Shiraz with layers of complex spicy notes and a hint of that characteristic peppery taste we know and love in great Shiraz. 

A bargain at more than this price and exceptional drinking for now or the next two to three years.

The Lovegrass Shiraz is an easy drinking yet full bodied wine. Juicy ripe fruits, earthiness and integrated spicy oak are present on the nose. The palate is rich with blackberry and chocolate notes which are complemented with moderate acidity. This is a great example of a robust Australian Shiraz. 

A dark cherry colour leading to a nose with aromas of cherries with spiced plum, black pepper and spice with subtle integration of oak.

The palate is round with serious intent; bright florals, juicy fruit and a lifted integration of earthy spice note and black pepper. Soft mouth coating tannin, a creamy texture and subtle oak provides a poised, elegant finish.

This wine is a deep red with a bright magenta hue. On the nose there are vibrant aromatics of red and black berry fruits, a lift of violet florals, clove spice and mixed garden herbs. The palate is dominated by a lively burst of berry fruits, which are well framed by fine, powdery tannins. Juicy plum and blackberry flavours persist through the finish, with sweet spice to close

Created for immediate enjoyment, our 2022 Zip Line Shiraz captures the essence of the Barossa with its vivid ruby hue and expressive aromatics. Notes of ripe red and black fruits mingle with delicate floral rose hints, delivering a bouquet that’s both vibrant and inviting.

Minimal oak influence ensures the purity of our Shiraz shines through, leading to a palate that is effortlessly lush and fruit-forward. A ripe, finely textured tannin structure provides a soft, lingering mouthfeel – a hallmark of this beautifully balanced 2022 vintage.

Our Zip Line Shiraz is named after the zip line cable ride at our vineyard, which generates endless laughter for all generations of the family – and much like this wine, it’s a smooth ride to the end.
