Idee Folle translates to ‘crazy idea’. This is an unusual blend of white wine grapes (Gros Manseng, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay) which has had an eau-de-vie added to halt fermentation, retaining the wine’s residual sugars.

Domaine Tempier is one of the great wine producers in the southern French appellation of Bandol where the late ripening Mourvedre grape rules the roost. This wine is a blend of 75% Mourvedre blended with Grenache, Cinsault, Carignan and Syrah. Grapes are grown on a range of different soil types in the arid sunny climate of Bandol. The average vine age of grapes that went into this wine was 35 to 40 years old. All grapes were hand harvested then de-stemmed, crushed and fermented in concrete vats for three to four weeks with indigenous yeasts followed by maturation in large oak for 18 months before bottling. Drinks well now, if decanted, and can age for well over 10 years. 

Les Fondraux is semi-sweet: it always has some residual sugar, wich gives concentration and fullness to the palate. White flowers dominate the nose and help bring into focus all of the wine's freshness, fullness, minerality and vivacity. Whilst young, the wine matches perfectly with river fish, charcuterie, goat's cheese, and sweet-and-sour dishes. With age, the flavours can manage more spicy foods and white meat. - Champalou note.

Very deep purple Cabernet Franc made from 35 to 50 year old vines, which express a beautiful clarity of ripe red fruit and lifted aromatics. Great structure and fine tannins that ride over the palate to a long finish. Impressive now and can age.

Brother and sister Pierre and Veronique took over the domain from their parents in 1993 and have carefully maximised the huge potential of the estate. Their wines are superb and constantly gain more and more recognition from discerning wine lovers and critics. 

The vineyard has now more than doubled in size without diminishing the quality which is quite a rare achievement.

The Petit Closi Muscat sec is a white wine made from 50% Muscat petit grain and 50% Muscat of Alexandria. 

The result is an aromatic and dry muscat that is a beautiful golden yellow colour in the glass and offers powerful but elegant flavours of apricot and melon with a honeyed finish.

A pale rose made from the gentle, direct pressing of two pink skinned grapes, Grenache Gris, Clairette Rose and Carignan Gris.  The grapes soak up the Languedoc’s sunshine until harvest, then the juice ferments spontaneously (including malolactic) and spends a few months on its fine lees before an unfiltered bottling. Bright and lively, with ample flesh and layers of texture.

Big on flavour, low in the use of sulphur. This biodynamic wine comes from Domaine de Causse Marines in the Gaillac appellation in southern France. The blend is 50% Mauzac, 20% Loin de l’Oeil, 20% Muscadelle and 10% each of Chenin and Semillon, all of which combine to create a complex, nuanced white which offers a nutty, stonefruit nose and palate of apricot and green apple notes. Its fresh acidity adds great length.

Silky, complex and layered French Pinot Noir from the Loire Valley, which is the historic home to Domaine Henri. Le Graverons is made from a vineyard at the top of La Cote des Monts Damnés in Chavignol where the soils are Kimmeridgian (fossilised) and this wine has silky texture with red fruit flavours captured in a  full bodied style with red fruit aromas and layers of savoury notes adding depth and  interest to the wine.

This lovely dry Sauvignon Blanc has delicious bright fruit flavours and a French-Kiwi connection as it is made in the Loire Valley, France, by a family that also owns a winery in Marlborough. 

Flavours here are remarkably aromatic on the nose with floral and fruit aromas of citrus, apple and gooseberry aromas with hints of passionfruit on the palate.

Chardonnay Rose is a pink-skinned, aromatic variety that the Tissots found in one of their vineyards. A selection massale was planted in their Mailloche, Curon, and Bruyères parcels. This is a very rare example of this grape, from one of France's most beloved regions. Pair this dry white with Morbier and Morteau sausages.

This Pouilly Fumé is grown on chalky clay vineyards grown on sloping hillsides in the Loire Valley. This wine has a floral and smoky character which flatters the fruity aroma, roundness and long, flinty finish.

"Les Baronnes" is a wine of exotic fruit and citrus aromas; subtle yet powerful. Its persistence and harmony find their origin in the exposition and quality of the terroir. Delicate nose with aromas of white flesh fruits and citrus, this Sancerre is highlighted by its typicity. - Henri Bourgeois. 

This is fruity yet mineral, with a perfectly balanced body and acidity. It's a blend of Grenache Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and a little-known grape called Terret. Zingy, zesty and full of notes of green apple, kiwifruit and lime zest.
