Our Best Bitter blends five speciality malts to give the ideal balance of sweetness, providing well rounded toffee and biscuit characteristics. This is in combination with just the right amount of hops to accent the bitterness, and give a fruity, earthy aroma without dominating this malt-driven beer.

Amber in colour, bitter yet smooth in flavour, and malty in finish, the award-winning Best Bitter is one not to miss! Available in 440ml cans and 1.25L riggers – as well as on tap at all Sprig + Fern Taverns.

He fell in with the Communists, seeing the revolution through and founding the “together in harmony” movement, better known by the name Gung Ho! For this version of our beloved Gung Ho! we’ve used the finest and freshest ‘wet hops’ from our sunny valleys in Tasman - picked fresh off the bine and carted straight to the brew kettle in 24 hours.

Bright NZ IPA bursts onto the spring-time scene with a vibrant glow that’s impossible to ignore. Packed with Nelson Sauvin, NZH-109, Riwaka and Moutere, it’s a full-on celebration of some of the best hops New Zealand has to offer.

For the fourth edition of the Haze of the People series, we once again put the decision in your hands – this time asking the public to choose the hops that would make the cut. The result? A globe-trotting line-up of NZH-106, Saphir, Citra and Vic Secret, coming together from New Zealand, Germany, the USA and Australia. With such a far-flung selection, the name for this hazy adventure practically wrote itself: 'Four on Tour'.

Harvest Pilsner™; a beer that tells a tale of sixty seasons, of bines grown big and tall, of countless hop cones brewed, and of the hundreds of hands involved in bringing you the freshest flavour year after year. This is more than just a fresh hop beer, Harvest Pilsner™ is a true taste of a moment in time.

This year’s harvest marks the fifteenth anniversary of our multi-award-winning fresh hop pilsner. For 2025, it’s been carefully crafted with local Riwaka™ and Motueka™ hops from the Tasman region, hand-selected, collected, and raced back to the brewery by our Master Brewer, Tracy Banner. They lend exquisite and more-ish notes of mixed citrus and tropical fruit, a pleasant sweetness and a bright, resinous note. These are balanced against a rock-solid foundation of a crisp, dry, and quite frankly terrific pilsner.

Yearly fresh hop IPA from Baylands

6.5% ABV

This IPA brewed in a West Coast style highlighting the distinctively fresh tropical and passionfruit notes from the Nectaron & Nelson Sauvin hops. The fresh hops will be supplied by one of our local hop farmers, Mac Hops, and this IPA is just bursting with flavour that will linger and leave you taste buds singing for more.

5.9% ABV.

For this year’s fresh hop brew we have set our sights on producing a 100% Canterbury grown and made Pilsner. Canterbury grown malt from our friends at Gladfield Malt and fresh off the bine Riwaka hops from our friends up the road at Bold River Hops, located in a stunning valley close to the Hurunui River Mouth. Aromas of passionfruit and salivating pink grapefruit have emerged from the cauldron along with a pungently fresh grassiness and a hint of dank fresh hop goodness.

Forged in the greenlands of Waikanae, Lord of the Cones is a quest into the heart of our most precious hops. Fresh Nelson Sauvin are gathered at dawn and rushed straight into the kettle, unleashing bursts of citrus, grape, and gooseberry. One Cone to Refresh Them All.

Feijoa Fling Sour Ale 5% ABV
Explosive notes of feijoa meet a zesty,
citrus forward palette. A base of
pilsner and wheat malt provide a clean
and sparkling body that carries the
punchy tartness of lime peel. Finished
with a signature pinch of salt to create
a crisp and sessioinable sour ale.
