Blair Athol distillery sits in the picturesque town of Pitlochry right in the middle of the Highlands of Scotland. An old distillery, it produces a classic highland style which is heavy in body, and nutty and spicy in flavour. This Blair Athol was filled from a butt which previously contained Olorosso Sherry and after such a long maturation is very full and rich.

Time tested tradition, spiced with a dash of innovation, this is the process we followed in making AMRUT INTERMEDIATE SHERRY CASK SINGLE MALT. Newly made spirit, matured in the traditional way in virgin / ex-bourbon casks and is transferred into Spanish ex-oloroso sherry butts wherein it matures for a year more, gaining an added sherry finish. The finishing touch is thus lent by a further period of maturation in ex-bourbon casks. Result: an essay in elegance with subdued sherry notes that bears the tell-tale Amrut Signature of quality and innovation. A worthy successor to the much-acclaimed Amrut Fusion and Amrut Double Cask.

Nose : Instead of the usual biscuit aroma, we now get moist cake. And my word: is it fruity and spicy!! Love the freshly waxed oak floor, too. Brain-explodingly complex and multi-layered with one of the most intriguing sherry-style-bourbon-style marriages on the market;

Taste : Cracking delivery and entirely unique in form. The structure is decidedly oak-based, but acts as no more than a skeleton from which the juicy sultana and spices drape. Salivating, too, as the barley kicks in powerfully. But the liquorice-orangey-honeycomb bourbon theme quietly shapes the flavour profile; the spices pulse and glow;

Finish : Quite a chunk of natural caramel quietens the more exuberant characteristics; long and elegant.

Not strictly a Japanese whisky, Togouchi sources grain whiskies from Scotland and Canada and ages them in Japan.

This is a blend from Chugoku Jozo, who mature their whiskies in a tunnel rather than a warehouse. The temperature of the tunnel is always 15 degrees while the temperature of the cellar at the headquarters in Hatsukaichi city is a little higher than that. Nutty, spicy whisky with a lovely butterscotch mouth feel. On the palate it expresses vanilla sweetness and a fine peat iodine, with hazelnuts and chocolate on the finish. Almost feels like a whisky/bourbon hybrid.

This release from Kavalan's Solist series has been aged in casks which held the sweetest type of sherry: Pedro Ximenez. This is a warming and fruity whisky with notes of juicy raisins and honey syrup.

320 bottles of 'Greedy Angels - Chairman's Reserve' 10 years old.

This whisky is the first 10 year-old single malts to be produced by the company.
The very limited-edition whisky marks the Bangalore boutique distillery’s first
10 years in the international markets where it has built up quite a following
amongst whisky connoisseurs. 

The specially designed package consists of a 700ml crystal decanter bottled.

Bunnahabhain Staoisha 'North Star' 11 years old 55.7%

Staoisha is the name given to the heavily peated spirit distilled at Bunnahabhain distillery. This single cask expression from North Star Spirits has been matured for eleven years in a single refil Hogshead cask. There are notes of smoky burnt hot chocolate, salted pecan pie and wafts of peat with warm tropical sweet notes on the finish.

A new release under the Enigma series, this cask strength, undisclosed peated Highland single malt has a smoky, savoury start. Notes of bacon-flavoured chips and peaty embers come through before sweeter notes of banana and vanilla custard. A thick and syrupy mouthfeel carries candle smoke and flinty notes, finishing on grated nutmeg.

Expertly crafted from Raasay’s lightly peated spirit and
matured in ex Frazitta Marsala Vergine casks, before being
bottled at a robust 50.7% ABV. This whisky is laden with
flavours of baked apples with apricots and lingering smoked
toffee. This release represents a unique confluence of Sicilian
wine heritage and modern Scottish whisky craftsmanship,
resulting in a rare and highly collectible expression.
Nose: Grape must, sweet, slight sharpness, parma violets
Palate: Stewed apples, ginger, maple syrup, sweet pear,

This Linkwood, bottled from a single Oloroso butt is a perfect winter warmer dram. There are notes of warm apple cider and zesty citrus on the nose, before notes of sweet toasted oak, and sweet honey join on the palate, the sweetness continues on towards the end of the palate, with a rather malty finish.

Bottled from a refill hogshead, with an Oloroso finish, the aroma of this Glen Garioch is like breakfast on a cold Scottish morning, with warm porridge, sweet berries and brown sugar. The palate takes a sweet dessert like turn, with notes of custard and tart cherries served alongside baked apples. Grilled citrus notes linger on towards the end of the palate.
