Blair Athol distillery sits in the picturesque town of Pitlochry right in the middle of the Highlands of Scotland. An old distillery, it produces a classic highland style which is heavy in body, and nutty and spicy in flavour. This Blair Athol was filled from a butt which previously contained Olorosso Sherry and after such a long maturation is very full and rich.

A Cardhu with the warmth and spice to conquer the Seven Kingdoms, and the delicacy to rule them: this Speyside single malt is a cornucopia of orchard fruit, freshly-baked crumble, a touch of caramel on the side and a drying finish.

This lightly peated whisky is made from malted barley infused with smoke during the drying process. The flavour imparted by the smoke is a reflection of Wolfburn’s history – the original 19th Century distillery was largely fired by peat. The result is a beautifully smooth and rounded whisky.

Non chill-filtered @ 46% ABV.

Time tested tradition, spiced with a dash of innovation, this is the process we followed in making AMRUT INTERMEDIATE SHERRY CASK SINGLE MALT. Newly made spirit, matured in the traditional way in virgin / ex-bourbon casks and is transferred into Spanish ex-oloroso sherry butts wherein it matures for a year more, gaining an added sherry finish. The finishing touch is thus lent by a further period of maturation in ex-bourbon casks. Result: an essay in elegance with subdued sherry notes that bears the tell-tale Amrut Signature of quality and innovation. A worthy successor to the much-acclaimed Amrut Fusion and Amrut Double Cask.

Nose : Instead of the usual biscuit aroma, we now get moist cake. And my word: is it fruity and spicy!! Love the freshly waxed oak floor, too. Brain-explodingly complex and multi-layered with one of the most intriguing sherry-style-bourbon-style marriages on the market;

Taste : Cracking delivery and entirely unique in form. The structure is decidedly oak-based, but acts as no more than a skeleton from which the juicy sultana and spices drape. Salivating, too, as the barley kicks in powerfully. But the liquorice-orangey-honeycomb bourbon theme quietly shapes the flavour profile; the spices pulse and glow;

Finish : Quite a chunk of natural caramel quietens the more exuberant characteristics; long and elegant.

White Oak Akashi Blended Whisky is unique and different, it is a blend of malt whisky from the White Oak Distillery and imported malt whisky and spirit (from molasses).

Barrel ageing has infused Sanin with a faint vanilla aroma and fruity notes of pear on the finish. The fresh, underground water of Mount Daisen delivers a smooth, mellow taste in this light and refreshing whisky.

Blended malt whisky from Mars Shinshu Distillery in Nagano.

Tasting notes:
A rich golden whisky with light, sweet and floral fragrances with notes of sweet pear and dark cacao.

It has a beautiful soft body with underlying flavours of dried fig and allspice with a soft malt finish and hints of ginger cookies and honey milk.  Aged in bourbon, sherry, American white oaks.

Made from peated Ardnamurchan spirit and matured for six years before a final 18 months of additional maturation in ex-Mezcal casks, this a first for the distillery and one of only a handful of Scotch matured in this type of wood. Crisp, vegetal and herbaceous, the Mezcal influence is obvious from the start, bringing a character of eucalyptus, green banana and scented smoke throughout. Mineral chalkyness and olive brine give way to creamy sweetness and an earthy finish.

The latest batch of Wormtub has arrived, an intense sherry cask finished whisky from an undisclosed distillery in Speyside. Named after a wormtub condenser, which is the traditional equipment used to return the spirit vapour back to a liquid during distillation. This is a hearty dram, opening with a rush of black forest gateaux, rum & raisin truffle balls and booze-soaked cherries. Notes of caramelized orange and walnut tannin add a dryness, with the palate being sweet, weighty and long with the flavour of hot fudge sauce.

The same unique six cask recipe as The Draam, but bottled at a
natural cask strength of 61.6% ABV. Natural colour and non-chill
filtered. Lightly peated with rich, dark fruit flavours

Peated and unpeated spirit made with 100% Scottish barley are
matured separately in ex American Rye whiskey, virgin Chinkapin
oak & ex Bordeaux red wine casks. Our six recipe casks marry
together to create the perfect dram with real elegance,
complexity and depth that speaks beyond its years. Every drop is
distilled, matured, bottled and shipped directly from the Isle of
Raasay. Island population: 161.

Palate: Sweet spice, cinnamon, black pepper, blackcurrant,

For this release, Ardbeg used more grist and less water in the mashing stage to increase the concentration of the fermentable sugars.

In the subsequent fermentation stage, this created a fruitier juicer wash, and when distilled, it generated a fruitier style of New Make Spirit.

An explosion of fruity, estery notes, reminiscent of smoked bubblegum, fuse with whiffs of ripening barley and toasted sourdough bread. A splash of water reveals dense, sweet, and aromatic peat smoke, accompanied by gently smoked tropical fruits.

Taste

A rich, creamy mouthfeel drifts into sharp, sooty and spicy notes of creosote, aniseed, and clove. Tempered by the distinct sweetness of muscovado sugar, robust woody notes orbit rich charcoal.

Finish
Finally, in an almost infinite finish, earthy peat moss fuses with sizzling bonfire embers.
