Unit price perThe Kaapzicht (Cape View) Wine Estate covers 174 hectares in the Bottelary Ward in the world-famous Stellenbosch district of South Africa. The vineyards stretch over predominantly north-facing slopes on fertile granite soils with a climate that favours the cultivation of quality wine grapes.
This wine is made using fruit from old bush vines planted in weathered granite topsoil and crumbly clay sub-soil, with a yield of up to 4 tons per hectare. Some of the fruit coming from a vineyard planted in 1947 (second oldest Chenin in the country).
Made reductively. Grapes were harvested during early morning hours in cool temperatures and were given ± 8-10 hours skin contact. Enzymes were used to help extract flavours while on the skins. Wine lay on the lees for 3 months before being racked, cleaned & bottled.
Tasting Notes
Ripe quince, pineapple and stone fruit with some interesting savoury undertones. Lightly textured palate, with a hint of sweetness and balancing crunchy acid, results in a brisk finish.

Unit price perA Classic Belgian Dark beer. Lightly smoked with notes of nut and caramel.
This beer has reddish brown body and a good white head. The aroma has hints of plums, cherries and raisins, as well as some light spicing and deep candied sweetness.
The taste is not as sweet as the nose might suggest, being a nice balance of candied fruit and caramel malt backbone against a little roasted bitterness and spicing.

Unit price perOur Verdejo 100% signature wine is made from vineyards planted between 1962 and 1991. These are family-owned and from selected old vineyards which allows us to blend the soil range complexity from the Appellation of Origin Rueda.
Vineyard: The soil, made up of round pebble layers, low in organic matter, develops some limestone outcrops on the higher levels. The local climate, continental with Atlantic influence, forces the vine roots to go deep in search of water.
Wine making process: Must ferments in stainless steel, concrete and older wooden vats. After fermentation, the wine rests on its lees for four months. This blend is what makes our wine José Pariente Verdejo unique.
Vintage: The year 2020 was defined by mild temperatures in winter and summer, without extreme temperatures and significant rainfalls in the spring. All these elements contributed to a slow and balanced ripering process. These conditions resulted into a vintage 2020 of great intensity and aromatic definition. Fresh fruit (remarkable citrus) and balsamic character (anise flavour and menthol) especially stand out.
Tasting: Brilliant straw yellow colour with greenish reflections. Complex, fresh, elegant and high intense aroma. It has a markedly fruity tone that spans the range of white fruits and citrus. There are also hints of fennel and garrigue on a balsamic aniseed ground. All of it over a mineral base.
On the palate: fresh fruity notes appear again. Unctuous and elegant, with a slight touch of bitterness at the end, typical of Verdejo, backed by a good acidity. Very good structure favours a lingering wine. Complex and intense aftertaste.
Food pairing: Suitable for appetizers, fish, seafood, pasta, rice and white meat. It also pairs well with smoked food, soft cheese and sausage specialties.

Unit price perThis is a pronounced skin contact expression of the Amphora Albarino with dried apricots, quince & orange rind notes. Appealing phenolic texture with treacle & marmalade, finishing with freshness.
As I was pressing the Albarino, (which had been macerating on skins for two weeks) the 'skins' portion began to turn a bright orange colour. I separated this amber portion into puncheon & barrel.
Later down the ageing track the pressings component from the Amphora Albarino announced itself as its own wine. So I paid attention and gave it its own voice.
The whole bunches were hand harvested, de-stemmed and macerated on the skins for two weeks time. A very light daily hand plunge and the addition of my active vineyard starter yeast which fermented underneath the vines. Biodynamic preparations 500, CPP were applied to the soil through out the year, as well as silica quartz (501) to the canopy.
The Three Bearies lived in a log cabin in the woods. One day, when a young lass named Goldilocks swung by for a visit, she had an opportunity to sample the tasty beverage they had created. Upon sampling the succulent libation she was moved to exclaim, in a rather excited voice, ‘why, it’s not too sharp, yet not too subtle…in fact, it’s just right!’.
Blending the vibrant flavours of raspberries, boysenberries and blackcurrants with a delicious apple base, the brew upon which our analogy is based is made from the finest ingredients, using the most natural process imaginable.
Full-bodied yet delicate and refined, the rich interplay between the berries produces a lively aroma and a big ‘jammy’ taste making it the ideal companion for long walks through the woods, or virtually any other outing or occasion you can think of!
