The organic story at Seresin

One of the greatest things about Seresin Estate is the organic certification. This came relatively early on for Seresin, who was dismayed by the amount used and the impacts of man made chemicals, which were routinely and frequently sprayed on vines. His early adopting philosophy of organic certification paved a positive path for the integrity of the wines as well as leading others to follow suit.

Cloud Cuckoo Land is an imaginary state of absurd over optimism – something that we at Wild & Wilder are often accused of. Indeed, not so long ago, if we’d said that we wanted to make high quality, low intervention wines made from Mediterranean varieties in the Riverland, Cloud Cuckoo land is exactly where people would have said that we lived! But, we believe that anything is possible if you don’t see the obstacles, you challenge the “received wisdom” and resist the naysayers. Cloud Cuckoo Land is for everyone who feels the same.

47% Nero D’Avola, 22% Montepulciano, 17% Aglianico, 14% Grenache

An unusual blend of varieties but this wine has the characteristic energy you’d expect from Italian reds. Deliciously succulent with smoky, dark cherry fruit, subtle spice and a mouth-watering finish.

Viña Casa Viva was founded in 1993 in Chile’s Casablanca Valley where a strong maritime influence, and a significant difference between daytime and night time temperatures (diurnal variation) allow for a longer ripening process that results in tremendous balance between acidity and sugar levels.

This Carmenere, the grape that put Chile on the map, is beautifully fragrant with dark fruits complexed by savoury herbal, almost minty elements. The palate is lush and opulent with the silken texture we have come to expect from ripe yet balanced fruit that is grown in this region.

VINEYARD - The fruit from this wine was sourced from a single Waipara Valley vineyard.  The fruit is left on the vine to ripen until the berries start to lose moisture and shrivel, concentrating the flavours and producing a rich style of Pinot Gris. 

SOIL TYPE - Alluvial gravels

WINEMAKING - The fruit was hand-picked and meticulously hand sorted. The juice was fermented warm by indigenous yeasts in aged French oak barriques.

TASTING NOTES - Wonderfully fruited and fragrant, the bouquet shows mango, golden peach, poached pear and rich floral aromas, leading to a splendidly flavoursome palate offering opulent fruit flavours with spicy nuances, finishing long and delicious. This silky-smooth Silver rum, from our own heritage sugarcane, is only moderately filtered giving it a light straw appearance. With its pure and distinctive taste, Tanduay Rum Silver is for those seeking greater complexity and sophistication.

This rum is aged up to 5 years in ex-bourbon barrels, with a taste profile of green ripe fruits with hints of burnt sugar, mandarin and vanilla. Perfect for sipping straight yet well-balanced for mixing.

Smooth, supple and savoury Pinot Noir that also ticks the certified organic box. This wine offers awesome value for money and is made entirely from Mount Edward's estate owned vineyards. All grapes in this wine were destemmed, fermented with wild yeasts and the wine was aged in French oak. Bottling was without fining and filtration.
 

Dry red wine from the Graves AOC. This is a rich, ripe wine with dark plum, spice and woody notes on the nose. The palate is very concentrated and is defined by its ripe red fruits and smoky intensity.

The familiar flavours of your favourite apple pie. Crisp apple, cinnamon and a hint of ginger.

A slightly sweet sparkling session mead made from multi-flora mānuka honey fermented with Ruapehu mountain water.
