The raptor family includes a surprisingly diverse collection of birds of prey and their kin, and stretches to include some of their fiercer ancestors from the land before time. Pale ale can feel like a similarly broad category, but this one is very much of the more assertive kind. Deep gold with piercing piney bitterness and citrus hop flavours, it’s a throwback to the relatively recent past.

Unit price perA wonderfully rich coffee vodka liqueur from Jumping Goat, which blends fair trade organic cold brew coffee with spices, spring water and New Zealand vodka! What's with the name? As the legend goes, renowned Ethiopian goatherd Kaldi was watching his goats nibbling coffee berries and jumping around, and was inspired to harvest them (the berries, of course) and make a delicious brew!
Tasting Notes: Super rich and chocolaty, with roasted coffee bean, warming spices and slightly bitter espresso.

Unit price perMichel Lafarge was one of the greatest winemakers in modern Burgundy and he forged a reputation for making outstanding quality wines from Volnay and Meursault, such as this full bodied, smoothly creamy expression of Chardonnay from its golden heartland in the Cotes d'Or.
Lafarge passed away in January 2020 at the age of 91. His passing was marked by an outpouring of respect from all over the wine world. The domaine, now run by his son Frédéric and granddaughter Clothilde, is rightly hailed as one of the finest estates in Volnay. The domaine is farmed biodynamically, using eco-friendly resources including a band of travelling chickens to eat vineyard pests and a horse to plough between their 10 hectares of vines. The vineyards are planted on some of the best sites in Volnay and Beaune and their winemaking is sensitive but traditional, with just a small amount of new oak used to allow the wines’ finesse to shine through. The result is some of the finest-made and longest-lived wines in Burg
Today, Michel Lafarge’ son, Fréderic, runs the around 10 hectares of vines and own some of the very best sites in Volnay. The domaine is run very much by instinct and respect for the terroir, with no sense of imposition and with biodynamic techniques.

100% Cabernet Franc.
Germain’s calling card is drawn from the domaine’s many parcels in Saumur. These varied sites grow on tuffeau/limestone soils around the communes of Varrains, Chaintres, Dampierre and Saumur. The vines range from 10 to 70 years old (with the average at around 30) and include the domaine’s ‘home’ vineyard, Le Clos, a site ploughed by the family’s Ardennais draft horse. Germain harvests by hand, employs cold soak infusion for some parcels and carries out the wild yeast fermentation and maturation mostly in tank. Aside from a minor 10 ppm SO2 at bottling, the wine sees no additions. Packed with youthful Saumur joie de vivre, this is a pure, elegantly floral red with perfumed dark cherry, anise and graphite notes and a juicy, supple, mouthwatering personality that pairs beautifully with cheese, paté, pork chops and roast chicken. In other words, the perfect bistro wine (that goes with every course)! The colour of the label this year is a kind of bluish slate.

Unit price perThe Saumur Champigny Terres Chaudes Rouge is a red wine from the controlled designation of origin of the Loire Valley. It is a blend of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown on a clay-limestone soil.
Tasting
The Saumur Champigny Terres Chaudes Rouge has aromas of red fruits and spices, with a hint of licorice. It is structured with ample and fleshy tannins. This wine goes perfectly with red meats, saucy dishes, and aged cheeses.
Terroir and Winemaking
Domaine des Roches Neuves practices organic farming to cultivate its vines, which is beneficial for the environment and biodiversity. The grapes are harvested by hand before being rigorously sorted. The winemaking process takes place traditionally with prolonged maceration and aging in tanks and oak barrels for several months. This method produces a powerful and elegant wine that reflects the richness of its terroir.

Unit price perLock, Bock & Barrel is back to deliver a masterclass of both light and dark beer.
The smooth drinking and refreshing notes of a typical lager meet the malt-bomb bock, bringing a rich and toasty character with hints of caramel and chocolate. This may sound like a tussle for the tastebuds, but Lock, Bock & Barrel is well-balanced and true to style – a real treat for the senses.
Don’t just take our word for it though…
