‘Vaillons’ originates from the Latin vallis or valles meaning an ‘elongated area between two raised zones’ which escribes the 1er Cru plot from which this wine is made.

Bright, clear hue with attractive golden tinges. This 1er Cru offers remarkable aromatic complexity with aromas of ripe citrus and white flowers. The palate is round and seductive with a lively attack. Excellent length and a refined aromatic persistency combining fruity notes and a delicate acidity. Pleasant sensation of freshness.

This cheeky little French rose is a super fruity, medium dry pink wine made in Anjou in the Loire Valley in northern central France; one of that country's most diverse wine regions. 

It's made from two red grapes, Gamay and Grolleau; both well known for their soft, smooth and fruity style. 

This wine is super popular and has fruit sweetness and an off dry finish.

100% Syrah from the Northern Rhone's appellation of St. Joseph which is famous for its powerful wines. The palate offers Oodles of blackberry, black currant and plum fruit that meld with spicy savoury and herbal elements.  The finish is long with black tea and toasty notes.

This Vacqueyras from the Southern Rhone is composed of 55% Grenache 35% Syrah 10% Mourvèdre. It is aged in Foudre with a final blend in demi muid & concrete (15/20%). 

Lovely dark purple, pure. Sweet black fruits, dark cherry, raspberry, dark fruit pastille, big flavours, with aniseed and mineral tone, sweet and juicy, vibrant and juicy, the tannin is well supported by the acidity, very long, blueberry and soft plum, touch of soy.

The baby brother of La Crau from Vieux Télégraphe, made using fruit from vines that are less than 30 yeas old and fruit from sites other than La Crau and Piedlong. This spends its first 10 month sin stainless steel before spending 7 months in small format oak. Ripe dark and red berry fruits are delivered in a wonderfully supple mouthful.

Wine growers in the northern Rhone since 1481, the Chave family represents 16 generations of unbroken lineage committed to the production of some of the finest Syrah, Marsanne, and Roussanne on the planet. Jean Louis joined his father in 1992 after completing undergraduate studies at University of Connecticut and a degree in oenology at Davis. It was at that time that he completely replanted vineyards on the family’s original estate in Saint-Joseph, which had been abandoned in the early 1900’s when phylloxera hit the region.

Jean-Louis Chave Selections, his negociant line which sources grapes from various areas in the northern Rhone, represents a more accessible way for the consumer to experience the wines of the Chave family.

A blackberry liqueur from Briottet, made from black, fleshy, ripe berries with a sweet taste balanced by juicy sharp freshness. 

Known by the Ancient Greeks and the Romans, the blackberry was not discovered in Europe until the 19th century. Picked when they are ripe, the fruit is black, fleshy, shiny, very juicy and a little sharp. 

The name ‘Mont de Milieu’ defines the slope that previously marked a boundary between two constituencies in Champagne and Burgundy.

Oak used: 25% New french oak  from Tronçais and Allier forests. Light and long soft toast.

Guilhem Durand, together with his consultant Claude Gros (who looks after some of the best Domaines in the Languedoc) have really refined Chateau la Bastide into delicious wines of great value.


The 70-hectare vineyard is southeast facing on chalky clay soil with alluvial gravel covering much of the topsoil and large round stones covering the best vineyard area. 80% Syrah, Grenache and Carignan Vieilles Vignes (some up to 120 years old) at 38 hl/ha in the hands of Guilhem Durand make Chateau la Bastide a wonderful mouthful of extraordinary good value. All the wines are made and matured in a mixture of cement and stainless steel tanks.
