With a solid Silver at the Bragato Wine Awards this cheeky little Albarino offers distinctive fruit coupled with a hint of sweetness balanced by crisp acidity. A perfect match for paella.

Vineyards
- The McKenzie vineyard is located in Waipara close to the winery. The vineyard is a free draining terrace site. The average age of vines varies from 16 years or older.

Wine Making
- All hand harvested in late April and early May
- Harvest brix ranged from 22-23 brix [% sugar]
- Fermentation was in small vessels [1500L] 3 day cool soak, inoculated with yeast,
fermentation varies from 4-6 days peaking at 32 C then allowed 7-10 days on skins. Some components were given extended skin contact up to 28 days.
- Pressing was in traditional Basket Press
- Cooperage was a mixture of French barrels ranging in age from new to 6+ years. Duration is approx 18 months
- Malo lactic [ML] fermentation is natural starting in Spring and the wine is racked and has a SO2 addition once ML complete.
- Bottling is through 1 micron filter

- Acid is 5.5 gm/L [as tartaric]
- Volatile Acidity is 0.45 gm/L
- Residual Sugar is < 1 gm/L

This wine is made with 100% Pinot Blanc from Cremant d'Alsace AOC. It is crafted in the same fashion as champagne using the traditional method and the result is a fresh, light and fruity sparkling wine with green apple and lemon aromas, fine bubbles and a delicate palate.

Grape Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah

This is one of our best Pinot Noirs under $25 and consistently exceptional drinking at this price, thanks to fruit forward flavours of red cherries which are underpinned by refreshing acidity kept in balance by an under tow of savoury, earthy flavours. 

It's made by Martinborough winemaker John Douglas, who owns a small vineyard on Te Muna Road, 9 kilometres west of Martinborough village. This four hectare plot of organically certified vineyard land is home to the grapes that go into this excellent Pinot Noir, which over delivers on value, flavour and style.

Te Muna Valley has the same stony soils as vineyards the better known  vineyards around Martinborough village. It also has a slightly windier, slightly cooler climate, both factors that combine to make for challenges in the volume of grapes produced but exceptional depth of flavour in the great wines from this valley. 

Brave Brewing - The People's Pils is deliciously simple and brings together clean, crisp malts and a zesty, noble hop character.  Fermented with a German lager yeast, this is a proper old school crushable pilsner, brewed for the people.

Organic Cider and Fruit Pét Nat made in Aotearoa. We take natural wine making methods and apply them to locally grown, organic certified fruit. Wild ferments using indigenous yeast and no added sulphur. A hands off approach to cider making and a unique expression of the place we call home.

Complex and deep, this one is more fruit wine than cider, with soft bubbles and an elegant fruit driven palette. the most graceful of the cru!” 

Fruit Cru is a project brought to you by former Everyday Wine co-owner, Cosmo Hawke, and Chef at Havana Bar, Jesse Jehmal. Together they are sourcing fruit from around New Zealand and producing ciders and pet nats (bottle fermented sparkling wines) in a warehouse in Newtown, Wellington. Seasonal releases. 100% Furmint from four vineyards growing on volcanic sites in the famous Tokaj region of Hungary. Fermentation and maturation are both in 100% stainless steel to preserve the fruit forward nature of the wine. That said there is plenty to texture and complexity with almond notes and refreshing minearlity.
