Good cider is about blend and balance.  

The Alchemist is part chemistry and part wizardry; a fruit driven, new world cider that includes a small volume of intensely tannic Fuero Rous for structure.

A modest volume of fresh apple juice was added during blending to provide a freshness to the palate and nose.

Ethereal, fresh, appealing to both the nose and the palate, Pédesclaux’s second wine is a flower that unfurls as you approach. Thanks to its reliance on a high proportion of Merlot, the wine is soft and gentle, with a delicious, silky texture. It has intense, compelling and savoury fruit aromas and, year after year, beautifully calibrated scents of white flowers, violets and small red berries. Exhibiting a more high-spirited elegance yet nonetheless showing remarkable length, Fleur de Pédesclaux is a delight. In the mouth, it is fresh, subtle, packed with fruit and beautifully smooth tannins, with a long finish. In this more floral expression, the marvellous complexity of our terroir is once again evident, but in a mouth-watering style that is instantly festive.

Production: 

Made 100% from Viura (Macabeo) grapes. The hand-harvested grapes are selected from old vines sourced from their own vineyards and are made in a very traditional winemaking style.

It has spent 4 years in oak barrels, been racked twice a year, been fined with fresh egg whites, been bottled unfiltered, and been followed by some ageing in bottle before being released.

Tasting Notes: 

Pale gold in colour. Aromatic and complex-scented nose of mature fruit, some dry honeycomb, and a citrus touch, floral and nutty with hints of oak. The palate is complex and developed, with good acidity that opens out very well and finishes dry.

Notes: With good ageing potential, it will drink well through 2027. It goes well with all kinds of fish, grilled seafood, and white meats, as well as with pasta dishes.

THE WINERY

The family-owned bodega López Heredia, one of Rioja’s oldest and most traditional establishments, was founded in 1913 by Rafael López de Heredia. Three generations later, the Lopez de Heredia family continue to devote themselves to producing exceptional and unique wines. Located in the heart of the Rioja Alta region, Viña Tondonia is a beautiful vineyard and one of the most spectacular in Haro, with over 100 hectares situated in a shell-like depression on the right bank of the river Ebro; the soil is alluvial clay with a high proportion of limestone. The grapes from Viña Tondonia are always used in making their highest-quality wine.

Brewdog Hazy AF non-alcoholic lives up to the hype. All the character and flavour but no alcohol. Notes of tropical fruit, oats and wheat provide a mild and pleasant feeling. Definitely a beer worth trying!

We love food-friendly, trad styles here at Aliment, & this Munich Helles melds only German malt, yeast & hops for a bona fide pedigree. With clean fermentation, a hint of herbal Hallertau hops over smooth malt & body, it has just enough bitterness to keep it refreshing. Named after our German-Kiwi friend Andy, it’s rooted in tradition, has good taste & is always great to have around.

 Our Full Stop Single Hop series rolls on with a juicy monster from New Zealand Hops. Part of the Bract Brewing Programme, NZH112 brings so much sticky stonefruit, sunny citrus & mouthwatering passionfruit it’s sure to stake its place in hopdom! Medium-bodied with masterfully balanced bitterness, there’s a delightfully dank & satisfying thread throughout drawing you on to the next mouthful.

 Expeditious & delicious. It’s the Pitter Patter Way. A frothy, unfiltered supernova with massive drops of US Citra, Simcoe & Mosaic + Pacific Jade for good measure. Tropical, pine-laden fruit layered with bright citrus grabs you from the start to proper bitterness & a sticky, hoppy finish. Get at it!

ABV: 7.5%

A hallucinatory, mind-bending, consciousness-expanding, dream-like experience is not what you'll find in this can. It’s just a beer, man. But, this cloudy IPA does have a gnarly hit of Riwaka, Simcoe, and Mosaic hops, with a tropical citrus flavour, and a totally piney finish. At least it’s a trip for your taste-buds. Far out.

7.9% - Barrel aged sour red ale

Inspired by the Flanders Red style, this special sour ale is brewed using a generous portion of dark malts, then aged for an extended period in a mixture of wine and whiskey barrels creating a rich red-brown beer with lifted notes of tart fruit, cherry, plum, vanilla and dark chocolate.
