With predominantly local hops and slightly above-average alcohol content, our Red IPA has the same confidence and individuality that characterise our own former colony. Tantalising passionfruit aromas give way to a delightful and unexpected combination of berries, tart ruby grapefruit and a comforting toasty malt on the palate, rounded off with a satisfying, sustained finish.

Cucumber Dill Pickle Sour

A clean, refreshing sour beer inspired by the burger’s classic companion - the dill pickle. Naturally kettle soured and infused with cucumber, dill, and pickle spice. This quirky refreshing beer would be the perfect playmate for the classic cheese burger, fish burger or any other pickle loving burger offering.

BIRDSEYE

Our feathered friends see the world differently. Through birds’ eyes, things might look almost psychedelic to us, with heightened colours and fresh hues forming a surprising new spectrum. This hazy, citrus and stonefruit accented IPA with a mellow, soft and silky texture gives a similarly refreshing change of perspective.

Night Spirit Imperial Stout is a luscious black ale that has been aged more than 10 months in whisky casks that held very special NZ single malt whisky for more than 20 years. The casks have a great story to tell and amazing flavours to contribute to the beer.

Originally these American oak casks held American bourbon from J. T. S. Brown and Sons (now Heaven Hill) and were coopered in the early 1960’s. The resulting beer is deep, dark, and intense in flavour with notes of oak, roasted barley, black malts, vanilla, and whisky.
There were a very limited number of NZ Whiskey Co. barrels, and we can coax the whiskey character out of a barrel and into a beer only once. After that, the barrel may offer oak flavour, but the whiskey character is essentially lost. Each bottle is hand numbered. The 2017 release is sold out. Annual releases are planned for 2018 – 2021 and supply is very limited.

Count yourself fortunate if you are lucky enough to get your hands on some of these bottles. It is a unique experience which can’t be repeated and the beer will age gracefully for years. We expect the sweet spot to be around 3-5 years. Do not serve cold! Treat it like a port or red wine and serve it in an elegant glass.

12% ABV.

This week we release a very special collaboration with the Yeastie Boys. Last year we took advantage of  Stu from Yeastie Boys being in the country to brew a special old ale utilising both the old British brewing technique of long boiling to gain strength and colour and a strain of wild yeast cultured from a 1977 bottle of Bass Jubilee Ale. We made use of Stu?s jet lag and boiled right through the night turning the wort from pale gold to dark brown via kettle caramelization. The beer was then fermented with our English yeast strain before heading into 500L oak puncheons to referment with the wild yeast for 6 months. The result is malty, fruity, and firmly bitter, with a leathery tangy note from the wild yeast. The beer was brewed to honour the life of my father who passed away last year. While it tastes good now it is designed to be laid down and we have put a 2060 best before date on it.

10% ABV.

Tantric Haze Hazy IPA was brewed to be as tantalizing and as rich of an experience possible. We knew we needed overwhelming fruity aromas so decided to ensure this had a massive double whirlpool hopping followed by a triple dryhopping starting on the first day of fermentation and continuing throughout until our yeasts had given all they could. 

We wanted a soft and supple bitterness that was enough to balance but gentle and forgiving thus we massaged our water chemistry. We didn't want to overpower the aroma and flavour the hops had to give, thus did not add any hops for the bittering into the boil. 

Lastly we needed a yeast that had the power to biotransform the massive hop quantities into a bold rich juiciness. Any element by itself is not standalone worthy but altogether combine into this sensually hazy IPA that we believe will deliver you an experience of love and enjoyment!

7.0 % ABV.

It’s time to level up our Hazy IPA offering. People have been loving the Epic Hazy orange cans so much they have asked us when are we going to do a six pack. Well the answer is, NOW! We have taken the best of all our Hazy IPA recipes over the last 12 months and we have “cranked up the juice”.

We had already spent two years researching and tasting all the hazy IPA’s so we could come up with the ultimate recipe. We have also now brewed a bunch of different versions using different hop combinations over the last 18 months. We think that all the time and effort that has gone into making stunning Hazy IPA recipes will really show up in this beer. We have used an “Epic” amount of hops as you would expect from us. We got the biggest, juiciest, stickiest Citra, Mosaic and Simcoe hops we could find. A blend of T90 and Cryo hops to give the maximum desired aromas and flavours. It’s like drizzling freshly squeezed passionfruit, mango and pineapple juice across your tongue.

A super low bitterness and maximum haze, will keep every Hazy-Head happy with being able to sit down and drink a few from the six pack. Share some with a friend. They will thank you for it.

Based on the historic stouts of London which added Oysters to add to theirperceived nutrition Three Boys annual winter release includes fresh BluffOysters which are added to boil with the hops. Pouring an inky pitch black witha healthy tan head, Oyster Stout is dry, roasty and rich with some dark fruitand the slightest hint of brine. 

At 6.2% ABV it's the ideal winter warmer forthe frosty nights we have been having. 

It's also the perfect accompaniment to afresh bluff oyster or a hearty beef and mushroom pie.

NZ went hard, went early and this far have smashed Covid-19! Behemoth have made this beer in honour of what the whole of Aotearoa has been through! Teaming up with their friends at Harpoon Cold Brew Coffee, they’ve infused cold brew into this massive barleywine. Go hard and go early and pick up the coffee in this early on, or let is age 5-10 years and see how those flavours mellow into a dream over time. Kia Kaha, Aotearoa!

Triple hopped with Pacifica, Motueka, and Riwaka in increasingly lavish quantities throughout the boil, Trip Hop's bitter but balanced on a generous malt base.
Rich amber red and redolent of the Nelson hop fields. Think easy drinking for resin heads and pucker up.

5.6% ABV

Emerson's - One for the hopheads, Bird Dog is full of intense flavours courtesy of American hops to deliver a smooth, resiny beer. Tropical fruit dominates the flavour with subtle fresh squeezed orange with a hint of pine thrown in. Given the name, the astute drinker will note a gratifying absence of any avian or canine aftertaste.

7.0% ABV.

Armageddon is the pinnacle of impish brewer Luke Nicholas's obsession with American hops! This 6.66% abv beer hits you in the face with massive aromas of lychee, gooseberry, and grapefruit before filling your mouth with resinous citrusy hop flavours and a firm malt profile.
