Liberty Brewing - Originally brewed for the West Coast IPA Challenge in 2013, the name of this beer wasn't always planned to be so grotesque.  You see...  I had penned the name pretty much every hop variety i could get from the USA thrown in.  However, whilst filling the kegs for this esteemed competition, a song came on Spotify and made the task so much more enjoyable that i decided to change the name.  But let's face it: Yakima Kitchen Sink was a bit of rubbish really!

Anyhow, regardless of the name the beer continued to take out the champion spot which was one of the proud moments in my life.  It's just a shame i wasn't there to enjoy the celebrations!

Liberty's West Coast IPA Challenge entry for 2018. Juicy and fruity. Unfiltered. 

6.6% ABV.

It doesn't have to always be about hops. With the surging popularity of overtly hoppy beer, there's an extreme demand for the aromatic little flowers. The history of beer has never seen such overwhelming pressure on the international hop supply. With entire crops unavailable to the smaller brewery, these are the Darkest Days for the hard-core hop heads. But this isn't about hops. This is about a delicious oatmeal stout, darker and more ominous that your hopped up fears. Challenge your palate with this, decidedly, devilish drop. Enjoy full bodied bitter chocolate and espresso notes, with a rich texture, at cellar temperature with your friends and family.

Oatmeal Stout - 6% ABV

This crushing double IPA, named for the legendary hop that predominates it, is one of New Zealand craft brewing's original palate benders, famous for squeezing every last drop of flavour and aroma from its American namesake. Strong notes of citrus shouldn't surprise anyone who reads the label.

9% ABV

Eddyline Brewery - We love the juicy hop aromas of the New England style IPAs but feel ?hazy is lazy?. This slightly hazy IPA is bursting with Citra, Mosaic, and Simcoe hop aroma with a subdued bitterness and incredible drinkability! 

Named after one of our favorite tunes, this lightly hazed NEIPA is a fun party brew.

6.1% ABV.

Duncan's Brewing - Part of our dessert-style sour beer range.  Brewed with lactose sugar and vanilla that sweetens the passionfruit and lime sourness.

5% ABV.

Emerson's - The orange Roughy's scientific name is Hoplostethus atlanticus.  Which roughly translates as, a hazy, hoppy pale ale with a tropical fruit aroma, citrus flavour, and malty backbone.  In the past, the roughy has been subject to unsustainable practices - completely selling out.  Thanks to the hard work of our brewers, numbers are now on the rise.  Careful you don't exceed your quota, though.

4.2% ABV.

A dessert style sour, brewed with lactose sugar and vanilla that sweetens the raspberry tartness.

5% ABV.

Duncan's - This beer is the Mango Lassi of east coast IPA's.  Brewed with mango, vanilla, lactose and a tonne of tropical fruity hops.

6.3% ABV.

A velvety milk stout, brewed with oats, organic cocoa powder and cocoa nibs. This decadent combination is apparent on both aroma and taste, with earthy cocoa and dark berryfruit leading into a creamy, sweet finish balanced with a touch of bitterness. 

An apt companion for the Winter season, we think that this beer will also make a perfect dessert with the addition of a scoop of vanilla ice cream. 

For this years release of our Chocolate Stout we've used cacao nibs and cocoa husks from Lucid Chocolatier for a smooth chocolate hit, and oats for velvety texture

5.6% ABV

North End - Just because something is small doesn't mean it won't pack a punch.  The little, delicate, dried flowers of the hibiscus plant are a case in point as they lend a pungent, fruity character, and deep pink colour when added to beer.  The same can be said of Petit Luna.  Hibiscus, Kaffir lime, spicy Belgian yeast and lactic tartness all brew up to a big refreshing blast of flavour fired by a light, low alcoholic beer.

2.5% ABV.

Biscuity pilsner malt and distinctive Motueka and Riwaka hops bringing aromas of lemon and lime. Nelson Sauvin for a tart gooseberry hit. Straw coloured appearance, brilliantly clear, with a long lasting white head. Crisp and bitter. Medium dry finish.

4.8% ABV. 

Zesty crisp and refreshing with grapefruit and citrus aromas

5.0% ABV.

A New Zealand interpretation of an Old English classic.  Our Milk Stout contains a non-fermentable lactose sugar derived from milk.  Deep black and full bodied with mocha and milk chocolate aromatics, it is smooth with a slightly sweet, balanced finish.

5.2% ABV.

Brewing in the old Dunlop Tyre Factory in Upper Hutt, Panhead produce a range of highly drinkable, hop forward, aromatic beers. Port Road Pilsner takes the New Zealand Pilsner style pioneered by Emerson's and Panhead Brewer Mike Nelsons former employer Tuatara and drives it into ever more zesty NZ hop laced territory. Try it with shellfish.
