For Great Justice is a delicious, smooth brown porter made with all NZ malt and hops. Biscuit, brown, and chocolate malts meld beautifully with freshly toasted coconut. Serve cool but not chilled to allow the coconut to shine through.

A golden, gluten-free ale made with sorghum, rice, and New Zealand Goldings hops, Auro Gluten-Free Ale is clean, very clear, light and refreshing, with full malty flavour and body.

Brewer's Notes

We really care about our beer and making the best quality beer possible. Auro Gluten-Free Ale is no exception and is made under HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points). It has 4 stages where we check for the absence of gluten in the beer - in the kettle, in the fermenter, post filtration, and in package. We use an industry accepted method for testing for the presence of gluten (gliadin and hordein proteins) which has an incredibly low threshold of detection of 1PPM (which is well below the accepted minimum detection level of 3PPM). Food Standards Austalia New Zealand specifies that a product may only be called Gluten-Free if there is no gluten detected and considers a result of less than 3PPM as suitable for calling "Gluten-Free". We test ourselves at a far more stringent level of testing than is applied in the US, EU, UK, Australia or New Zealand. We are confident that we are achieving this result and would not release the beer if it tested otherwise. We produce other products which do contain gluten and have a very rigorous cleaning schedule which we follow prior to making our gluten-free beer. Breweries are typically kept to a very high standard of cleanliness, but there are problem points which we have identified on our brewhouse where proteins can build up as staining or deposits. To address this we perform a second level of cleaning beyond our usual caustic-based standard cleaning procedures with an intensive renovation cleaning procedure prior to making Auro. To do this we strip off key fittings from the brewhouse and manually clean the problem areas and visually inspect all surfaces to make sure they are not stained with deposits, and then use a hot-acid detergent wash of all the food contact surfaces in our kettle, heat exchanger, and transfer hose.

BIRDSEYE

Our feathered friends see the world differently. Through birds’ eyes, things might look almost psychedelic to us, with heightened colours and fresh hues forming a surprising new spectrum. This hazy, citrus and stonefruit accented IPA with a mellow, soft and silky texture gives a similarly refreshing change of perspective.

5.8% ABV.

The taste of Kiwi hay paddocks and sunshine, bright fresh fruity New Zealand hop aromas (passionfruit, mango, citrus) layered over a firm biscuity malt backbone.

Refreshing and complex. As far as we are concerned the crucial element for a perfect summer. 

Drink with: Barbequed fish, shellfish , salads.

4.2% ABV.

A Vienna lager has a complex balance of well-rounded maltiness & gentle hop bitterness with a crisp dry finish with hints of sweetness. Maidstone Lager is our light & refreshing interpretation of this European style.

5.0% ABV.

Don’t be deceived, sometimes things are not what they seem. 

The modest strength on the can belies the flavour within. A complex selection of malts and generous dose of Sauvin and Simcoe hops create a light but satisfying beer that punches well above its weight.

American Pale Ale - citrus, tropical, floral & pine notes from the hops with a light biscuity malt profile.

The Expatriate is an American Pale Ale leaving the homeland in an exploration of something more.  It had no idea it would find New Zealand but the hops were too good to pass up. An alliance of US and NZ hops are sure to enlist your palate for a second round.

Double Vision - A traditonal Pilsner malt base and yeast with the dynamic Aotearoa hop duo of Nelson Sauv and Rakau.

5.1% ABV.  Pilsner

A Kiwi classic, Emerson’s Pilsner beautifully showcases Nelson grown Riwaka hops. It's overt fruitiness oozes citrus and passionfruit aromas and flavours, and begs comparison with Marlborough’s world-beating Sauvignon Blancs. The beer’s palate shows a hint of early malt sweetness but develops a lengthy dry finish.

4.9% ABV

The Garage Project are known for their outrageously flavoured and spectacularly branded beers. BEER marks a profound and deliberate departure from the plan with its straightforward generically branded can and straight up Czech Pilsner inside. Herbal,crisp and refreshing, BEER was made for summer.

Garagista (5.8% IPA)Brewed and double dry-hopped with NZ, Australia, and US hop varieties. Embrace the Garagista spirit; good things can come from the garage.

Hapi Daze (4.6% Pacific Pale Ale); Sessionable in strength, bright golden in colour and loaded with generous quantities of aromatic New Zealand hops. Very friendly indeed.

Parrot Dog - Our troublesome original release, named for the problematic first brew day which hugely emphasised its hop bitterness. It’s matured and evolved nicely over the years, with us. Big tropical hop flavour from local varieties with strong bitterness from an English hop to honour its origins, all balanced by plenty of malt.

What?! A beer that is both LOW CARB, and FULL of flavour? AND MADE BY EPIC?! When we noticed the increasing popularity of Low Carb beers we knew we needed to try and make the world a better place with beer. We're happy to announce that we have done it! Bringing the big hop aroma and flavour the Epic is renowned for, to a beer that is both low card and tasty. You can thank us later.

At a low 4.8% it's light, has a dry finish & is less filling but leaves just enough hop intensity to coat your tongue with deliciousness.

As far as we know this could be the first craft low carb beer in the market and we have had it professionally tested to reveal it has less than half the carbs of Epic Pale Ale!
