Oud Bruin, the traditional brown ale of Flemish Belgium, here painstakingly recreated and lovingly tended by Dave Bell, our Wild Workshop brewer.  Prolonged ageing in wood with a blend of yeasts and Lactobacillus creates a beer bursting wit dark sour cherry and dried fruit flavours, topped off with coffee and chocolate notes.  Dark and complex, a little bit like our Dave.  

Ask not for whom the Bell toils, he toils for thee.

Maredsous Brune 8 is a brown Abbey Beer, originally brewed for Christmas, but over the years it has become an institution! With its dark burgundy colour, this frothy beer has distinctive aromas, blending caramel with fruity notes! The citrus aftertaste takes away the "heaviness" of a traditional brown ale.

The allusion to pink elephants and the choice of names is not due to chance. With a particular character, the unique taste of results from the use of three different kinds of yeast. The result is a finish of peppery bitterness without aggression. The gray bottle hides a mystery awaiting discovery by the none faint of heart.

A Vienna lager has a complex balance of well-rounded maltiness & gentle hop bitterness with a crisp dry finish with hints of sweetness. Maidstone Lager is our light & refreshing interpretation of this European style.

5.0% ABV.

Double Vision - A traditonal Pilsner malt base and yeast with the dynamic Aotearoa hop duo of Nelson Sauv and Rakau.

 La Trappe Blond is an agreeable, tingling ale with a slightly sweet, softly bitter and malty taste.

Behind the walls of several Belgian monasteries there exists a tradition of making strong, dark, rich, fruity beers packed with the flavours and aromas of dark sugar and dried fruit. The strongest of these are often referred to as quadrupels. Our anniversary beer, Cuvée de Moor, takes the dried fruit one stage further and includes a range of Moroccan fruit and dark sugars in the kettle before resting for a year in bretted pinot noir barrels. This is one of the oldest beers of Westmalle Abbey, with a tradition that dates back to the start of our brewery. It was created to drink with meals in the abbey, something the monks still do today. Our everyday pale that's anything but ‘everyday’. Paradise Pale Ale is laden with NZ hops making it ‘all-tropical’ all the time. Star fruit, oranges, limes & papaya fill the palate along with enough light malt to keep it dry & refreshing. You could say there’s a little paradise in every pour.

American Pale Ale - citrus, tropical, floral & pine notes from the hops with a light biscuity malt profile.

The Expatriate is an American Pale Ale leaving the homeland in an exploration of something more.  It had no idea it would find New Zealand but the hops were too good to pass up. An alliance of US and NZ hops are sure to enlist your palate for a second round.

Born from the pioneering spirit of Paul Theakston who, in 1992, followed his heart and dared to start a new brewery. Brewed in Masham, North Yorkshire, this beer is the culmination of six generations of family brewing expertise. Crisp, dry and bittersweet.
