Rioja barrels remain the most favorite barrels to age our Barley Wine on. The maturation in these red wine barrels in combination with the tannins ensure that the full taste of the wine comes to the forefront. The characteristic Barley Wine flavors remain, although they are slightly toned down. A slightly dry aftertaste completes it all

In collaboration with the wine merchant Mestrezat from Bordeaux, we were able to put our Grand Cru beer on their Grand Cru wine barrels. This Grand Cru has a beautiful body with notes of wood, caramel, vanilla and red wine which are nicely balanced. Finally, the tannins provide a recognizable slightly dry red wine aftertaste

Calvados has a unique taste that with barrel aging gives a nice twist to the beer that has been on it. This time a Strong Saison. Expect the characteristic Calvados flavors and aromas such as apple, sweet fruits and oak. These together provide a warming and alcoholic mouthfeel.

What if you combine the currant bun with a full blond beer? The addition of currants, raisins and a touch of vanilla gives this beer, in addition to the malty characters of the blond beer, the unmistakable taste of the currant bun.

This juicy apple cider is a bright explosion of sun-kissed tropical flavours - a fresh-fruit cocktail of crushed pineapple with a twist of fresh lime and orange zest.  This one hits like a sunshower in a heatwave - bright, sparkling and dripping cool refreshment. Originally bottled in 2018 this blend of mixed ferment oak barrels infused with rhubarb and strawberry was tucked away to condition and mellow. What happened next? Was it lost, was it misplaced or did it simply slip from our minds? ?Rediscovered? five years later, like a well aged wine the beer is transformed with the glow of french polished teak, mellow fruit and delightful sherry like complexity.

The real kicker with collabs is learning new things. For this beer with Cornwell based Verdant Brewing we chose classic Kiwi hops - big additions of Nelson Sauvin, mojito-like Motueka, tropical Moutere and a smooth bitterness from the piney Waimea. 

Then we applied the Verdant-way-of-doing-things including using their renowned yeast - a highly versatile strain with more body than typical IPA yeasts. The best of both worlds in this super juicy Hazy IPA.

La Chouffe Giftpack contains 4x La Chouffe beers + 1x La Chouffe branded glass. 

La Chouffe is an unfiltered blond beer, re-fermented in the bottle, as well as in the barrel. It is pleasantly fruity, spiced with coriander and has a mild taste of hops. It has an intense golden-yellow colour and when poured correctly offers a creamy collar of froth.
