This lovely blond brew referments in the bottel and is best served cold. The Du Bocq brewery, creator of this excellent beer, launched Deugniet in 1858. Process: Fermentation activated by wild yeasts from the LoverBeer’s “spontaneous”. Fermentation and maturation for 5/6 months in oak vats, generous addition of Griotta cherries during the harvest time. Refermentation bottle or keg.

Inspiration: Until 1960s in Belgium in the Hinault region, the Farmhouse Ales produced, unlike today, reached the taste balance also through the acidity. That was our inspiration and for a better interpretation of the farmhouse concept we have isolated and used a LoverBeer’s yeast. This version is characterised by a fruit: the Griotta sour cherry from Pecetto and Trofarello. This variety is the same used for centuries for one of the most famous style in Belgium: the Kriek.
Description: Its color is watercolour red. It reveals cherry and almond aromas, with vinous cues. Extremely harmonious beer, with a citric and fruity persistence.

Unit price perWhile Brettanomyces (‘Brett’) yeast is known for producing the funky flavours and aromas in wild ales, it was actually first isolated from British stock ales, hence its name meaning ’British Fungus’ in Greek. It is believed that Brett living within the wooden barrels used to age these stock ales gave them their distinctive complexity and smoothness. Taking Stock was aged in oak barrels for eight months with the specific Brett strain that was originally isolated from these stock ales.

Winner of a gold medal at the 2018 Great American Beer Festival, Transatlantique Kriek begins its life in oaken vessels of Gert Christiaens’ Oud Beersel, a 130-year-old lambic brewery in the Zenne valley of Belgium – home of authentic Lambic beer. After time spent aging in wood, Oud Beersel’s lambic is blended with tart Polish cherries and shipped across the Atlantic to New Belgium. In concert with Oud Beersel’s cherry lambic, or Kriek, we blend an equal portion of golden sour ale matured for 1 – 3 years in our oak vessels called foeders. 50% Sour Golden Ale blended with 50% Traditional Cherry Lambic Ale leads to an intense cherry nose, a sour flash across the palate and a refreshing, mouthwatering finish
