Flavours: Pilsner malt, wheat malt, rolled oats, flaked wheat and a touch of Gladiator build a dense, pillowy body that keeps the 10.1% riding clean. Nectaron, Citra and Krush pump out fruity, bright, tangy candy notes – pineapple, passionfruit, citrus and juicy tropicals – with soft bitterness and saturated hop oils. See you on the Flipside, unapologetically old school West Coast IPA, with a contemporary twist courtesy of new Hāpi Research hop variety NZ17 with Freestyle Nelson Sauvin and Riwaka, delivering bold bitterness, punchy white grapefruit, mango, passionfruit and lime, all with a subtle sativa twist.

Chicama West Coast IPA is a long cool wave of bright tropical notes balanced by a clean, punchy bitterness. Citrus, berries, stone fruit and fresh pine aromatics are upfront from the Riwaka, Mosaic Cryo and Simcoe Cryo hops, grounded by a sturdy malt backbone for body and depth of flavour.

For this year’s fresh hop brew we have set our sights on producing a 100% Canterbury grown and made Pilsner. Canterbury grown malt from our friends at Gladfield Malt and fresh off the bine Riwaka hops from our friends up the road at Bold River Hops, located in a stunning valley close to the Hurunui River Mouth. Aromas of passionfruit and salivating pink grapefruit have emerged from the cauldron along with a pungently fresh grassiness and a hint of dank fresh hop goodness.

Hops For Hospice is a collaborative project between Sprig + Fern Brewing Co, Sprig + Fern Taverns, Little Sprigs, Gladfield Malt, NZ Hops, Label & Litho and VISY all coming together with a shared goal of supporting Hospice and the vital work they do in our communities. Hospice provides compassionate care and support to individuals and families during some of life’s most difficult times. It’s an organisation that many have a personal connection to, and one that relies on community generosity to continue its work.
