From NZ's first dedicated non-alcoholic craft brewery, State of Play is brewed in the sunny Hawkes Bay using New Zealand hops and Canterbury malt to create a full flavoured IPA. 

Using a special yeast, this beer is naturally brewed, retaining all the flavour while only producing a tiny amount of alcohol that is less than 0.5% ABV.

Sunbreaker Ale Zero* is a world first zero.
After months of trial the new brew has the signature State of Play full body and finish, fused with the ingredients of the ultimate sunny day elixir. Ginger adds some heat up front, Honey for a warm glow and the Lime cuts through letting all the flavours shine. So if you are looking to brighten up your day, or BYO sunshine at the next midwinter BBQ this is the perfect brew. The beer is brewed 100% naturally using a yeast that fully ferments and creates the beer flavour you want without the alcohol*. The natural Ginger, Honey and Lime is added at the end of the process, then pasteurised to lock in all the flavour. So now Kiwis have a choice – a wonderfully balanced IPA for all day refreshment, a hoptastic Nectaron unfiltered Pale Aleto satisfy a crafty urge and now a brew packed full of sunshine – Sunbreaker Ale.

Our most highly hopped beer to date at over 35g/L, Liquid Phantasm is an ultra-modern DIPA using a new liquidised version of Phantasm™, along with a selected batch of the OG powder, supercharged “Super-Sauvin” hops, and the freshest 2024 Motueka crop flown direct from the Freestyle hop farm in Sunrise Valley, and lashings of NZ Superdelic hop. In combination with a thiol-active yeast strain, an extended conditioning time, and a dose of Motueka and Nelson SubZero Hop Kief™, expect an extremely potent thiol bomb with a hyper-charged hop character. When you are looking to take a break from the haze and get into the clear, but still crave a hop fix, then Adios will do it for you. Adios is brewed with Zappa, a wild neo-mexicanus hop that was recovered from the mountains of New Mexico, and topped with El Dorado, Azacca and Talus hops to bring a tropical fruit and citrus profile on the nose. Add in the classic West Coast IPA hops, Chinook and Simcoe, and Adios delivers a clean and fruity attitude, putting a Mexicali twist on the venerable West Coast IPA. 6.5% ABV

Hazewired
New Zealand Hazy IPA

Following the footsteps of trailblazing older brother Hopwired, Hazewired is a beer set to forge its own path. Packed with a plethora of the best NZ Hops, we’ve borrowed Nelson Sauvin and Motueka from Hopwired. An injection of ultra-modern varieties Nectaron and Superdelic makes for one big, juicy Hazy IPA, loaded with notes of tropical mango, candied pineapple and passionfruit. An ode to the past, forged in the present.

Pale golden colour with a foamy white head. Light biscuity malt notes carry the hops. A mix of American Citra and NZ Cascade hops give the beer a bright and vibrant citrus burst. Crisp and drinkable. Lower in alcohol than most IPAs.

Mandarin Hazy IPA

A seasonally rotating fruit extravaganza, the latest squeeze showcases the best of fruit and hazy IPA. Each time we make this beer we select a different fruit & hop pairing. Mangoes & Centennial, Feijoas & Riwaka, Peaches & Amarillo ? where will we go next?

Grapefruit Satellite, Hazy IPA 6%

Grapefruit Satellite is a transcontinental hazy that takes you on a journey out of this world. A smooth and juicy East Coast Hazy meets resinous and pithy West Coast hops. White grapefruit adds a luscious burst of citrus and zest.

A good beer for those who don't like good beer! Clean, crisp and clear.

Here at Sunshine Brewery we’ve reached an incredible milestone –  3000 brews!!!!  To celebrate we’ve brewed a giant, hoppy beverage perfect to share with your mates and cleverly called it “Brew 3000”.

The 3 made us immediately think triple, so we brewed a Westie-styled IIIPA.  A simple and clean malt bill provides the backdrop to showcase a trio of American hops, Mosaic Cryo, Amarillo and Idaho 7.  A big beer for a big occasion. Enjoy cold, enjoy fresh, enjoy responsibly.
