From NZ's first dedicated non-alcoholic craft brewery, State of Play is brewed in the sunny Hawkes Bay using New Zealand hops and Canterbury malt to create a full flavoured IPA.

Using a special yeast, this beer is naturally brewed, retaining all the flavour while only producing a tiny amount of alcohol that is less than 0.5% ABV.

THE YARN BEHIND THE BREW

The year was 1930 when the New Zealand Oil Refineries began producing petrol, meaning that for the first time, Taranaki people could buy oil from their own oilfields. After several teething problems - including oil tanks solidifying in the cold weather leaving farmers to defrost their fuel tanks with blowtorches, Peak Petrol was born. Like a few beer brands that we all know, "Taranaki's own high-octane fuel' eventually fell away to the multinationals, but we're paying tribute with our own high-octane brew, loaded with a ridiculous amount of American and New Zealand grown hops that leave a tropical, resinous slick on the tongue.

Ignition sequence start. Luna Genesis marks the maiden launch of Australia's new Luna® hop - an orbit of luminous haze and cosmic aroma. Expect waves of ripe melon, citrus sherbet, and a soft, tropical glow, wrapped in a pillowy, juice-forward body. This Hazy IPA lifts off with a smooth, low bitterness and finishes with a radiant, lingering haze. Retro rockets, analog dials and hyperspace ambition - crack a can and drift into flavour space. countdown complete. Lift-off achieved.

CHICAMA WEST COAST IPA 6.4%

Chicama West Coast IPA is a long cool wave of bright tropical notes balanced by a clean, punchy bitterness. Citrus, berries, stone fruit and fresh pine aromatics are upfront from the Riwaka, Mosaic Cryo and Simcoe Cryo hops, grounded by a sturdy malt backbone for body and depth of flavour.

For this year’s fresh hop brew we have set our sights on producing a 100% Canterbury grown and made Pilsner. Canterbury grown malt from our friends at Gladfield Malt and fresh off the bine Riwaka hops from our friends up the road at Bold River Hops, located in a stunning valley close to the Hurunui River Mouth. Aromas of passionfruit and salivating pink grapefruit have emerged from the cauldron along with a pungently fresh grassiness and a hint of dank fresh hop goodness.

Sequoia West Coast IPA

Classic West Coast bitterness with bright New Zealand hop character and a crisp, dry finish.

6.2% - Wet Hop Harvest Saison

The blind reaper has cut the last neck and the hops are lying in the oast. Time to make merry. Harvest Home Saison, brewed with harvest fresh organic raw wheat & pilsner malt, infused with a subtle addition of coriander seed & Yen Ben lemon rind, then steeped in a hop back brimming with freshly picked ‘wet’ Southern Cross & Nelson Sauvin cones.
