This brand-new expression from the Glen Scotia distillery was made entirely from unpeated barley and matured for 10 years in ex-bourbon American oak casks. The distillery's home by the sea brings a maritime character to the aroma, with sea-spray saltiness. To craft The GlenAllachie Wine Series, we first expertly matured our spirit in American oak ex-Bourbon barrels. Subsequently, the whisky underwent additional maturation for over two years in wine barriques skillfully sourced by Master Distiller Billy Walker, imparting a distinctive twist onto the unpeated GlenAllachie spirit.

These particular French oak barriques were procured from one of just five Premier Cru Classe chateaux located in the world-renowned wine region of Bordeaux, France. Top of the official Bordeaux wine classification, these estates are considered to produce wines of the highest quality and flavour. Maturation in casks which previously held such full-bodied red wine has imbibed our honeyed spirit with deep notes of black cherry and smooth espresso. The resulting golden malt delivers a truly refined yet complex drinking experience.

Located in the heart of Portugal, the Douro Valley is one of the world?s oldest protected wine regions, established in 1756. With the country?s highest wine classification as a Denomina??o de Origem Controlada (DOC), this historic region is a significant producer of robust, characterful red wines. The barriques selected have imparted richness of both colour and flavour to our Speyside malt, offering decadent layers of dried stone fruits and delicate hints of warming spice.

With age comes more character, an incredibly balanced dram. This mature blend has complex spice, gentle peat and tobacco-like notes perfectly balanced with dried fruits and nutty undertones.

A 16 Year Old bottling of Old Pulteney which has been treated to a double maturation! Having been aged in both American oak bourbon barrels and Oloroso sherry-seasoned Spanish oak casks, the fruity and spicy nature of the casks compliment the maritime malt very well

Our neighbouring harbour village of Portsoy inspires the deep maritime flavour of this richly peated single malt. Matured in sherry, bourbon and port casks, over time the full-bodied depth of Glenglassaugh Portsoy grows, harmoniously balanced with the rich coastal character of our peated spirit.

Blackadder RAW CASK is "Whisky as it was". Whisky as it has been. Every drop is "Whisky from the Old School". Blackadder does not believe in chill filtration or the addition of caramel. Instead, they believe that real is best. Blackadder RAW CASK is like any other whisky from Blackadder. But even more than that. They use a special bottling process that means that each bottle contains its own portion of the cask sediment and natural oils and fats to ensure that the greatest possible number of natural flavours are in each individual bottle.

Blackadder RAW CASK is a "Single Cask" whisky as it once was, when whisky was drunk directly from a cask behind the bar. As Blackadder RAW CASK is Cask Strength with a high alcohol content, we recommend that you mix it with almost an equal amount of water. However, as the amount of water added is highly personal, it is your choice how much water you want.

Released in 2016, this is a small batch release of Finlaggan which is finished in sherry casks and bottled at 46% vol, for a ripe smoky flavour.

Tasting Notes: 

Nose: rich peat smoke, and big ripe fruits. Old leather and a hint of tobacco.

Palate: Thick chewy peat and rich fruity notes. make and sea salt. Oranges and dried fruits.

Finish: Long and warming. More smoke and fruit.
