This is Whisky Sponge Edition No.95, it’s a 31 year old, multi-vintage, small batch blended malt - a mix of a 1992 2nd fill barrel and a 1993 1st fill barrel, that were married together and bottled at natural cask strength.  

Tasting Notes: 

Nose: Deeply luscious with layers of honey, ripe green and yellow fruits, and sweet, rich cereals and malt. Notes of custard, dessert wines, citrus, and wax add complexity, making it simply irresistible.

Palate: Luscious and brimming with honeys, sweet wines, waxes, pollens, beeswax, dried exotic fruits, and citrus marmalades. Pure pleasure in every sip.

Finish: Long and dominated by honeys and fruits—everything expected from a 30-year-old Speyside whisky.

From a single sherry hogshead of a famous family-owned Speyside distillery which started life in a 1st fill barrel, before spending over two years in a 1st fill sherry hogshead.  

Tasting Notes: Nose: The influence of American oak and sherry casks is immediately apparent, with abundant dark fruits, coconut, and hints of herbal liqueurs. Café latte, cedar wood cigar boxes, and light wood spice notes add complexity.

Palate: Velvety dark fruits lead the way, accompanied by a creamy sweetness, fruit teas, cinnamon bark, and crystalline green and exotic fruits. A lovely spicy richness rounds out the profile.

Finish: Medium in length, with a spicy sweetness that transitions into oily, waxy, and creamy sherry notes on the aftertaste.

A new single cask expression from GlenAllachie distillery, this expression has been selected from a single 15 year old virgin oak barrel. Fifteen years in virgin oak has resulted in a rather cask forward profile, with aromas of toasted hazelnuts and milk chocolate opening up on the nose, followed by grilled honeycomb, vanilla sponge cake and hints of fresh pineapple and crisp green apple. The palate is initially rich and sweet, with notes of butterscotch, salted caramel and drizzles of heather honey, followed by vanilla and treacle. Dry sweet spiced notes of baked cinnamon and ginger, with hints of mocha round out the finish.

This all-new single cask was selected by GlenAllachie's master blender Billy Walker, from an ex-Oloroso Hogshead. Matured for 13 years, the nose opens up with aromas of summer berries, hints of mocha and ginger and poached pears drizzled with butterscotch sauce. On the palate there are notes of cocoa dusted dried pineapple, grated cinnamon stick, boozy plum sauce, muscovado sugar and Manuka honey.

A fusion of unique and rare elements, and clouded in secrecy, Signet is the culmination of a lifetime's experience. A blend of our oldest whisky and spirit matured in a selection of the world's finest casks, this undoubtedly is the richest whisky in the Glenmorangie range.

Of course, whilst the exact secrets of its production are known only to our whisky creators, we can tell you that Signet's melting sweetness and explosive spiciness is, at least in part, caused by our unique roasted 'chocolate' barley malt and the 'designer casks' made bespoke for Glenmorangie from American white oak. This 'Fife Blend' is a collaboration with a farm distillery in Fife and consists of a  25yo Cameronbridge finished in Marsala casks blended with 15yo whisky from an unnamed Fife distillery (very possibly Daftmill) and bottled at 56.3%.

Nose
Light and remarkably effervescent, with fresh grapes, peach, cherry and mango, alongside subtle richer notes of maple syrup and banana.

Taste
Ripe nectarine, mango and apricot merge with candied ginger stem, syrup and milk chocolate. A dash of water brings out big notes of tropical fruits.

Finish
Strawberries, dry champagne and passionfruit.

Whisky explorers searching for a glimpse into the spirit of BenRiach distillery have the chance to experiment with this emerging Speyside single malt in its most non-diluted form, with the release of BenRiach Cask Strength Batch 2. Following on from the successful release of Cask Strength Batch 1, BenRiach distillery Master Blender Rachel Barrie has hand-picked a small selection from 2006, 2007 and 2008 to create this rich, smooth, triple-cask matured expression.

This single malt continues BenRiach's reputation for rich, innovative cask maturation by combining cask strength whisky matured in bourbon barrels, Oloroso sherry casks and virgin oak hogsheads. It has a richer and smoother taste profile to its award-winning predecessor, BenRiach Cask Strength – Batch 1, which won a Silver Outstanding award at the International Wine and Spirits Competition in 2016.

The Silvano’s Collection label is produced by Masam, an independent bottling company run by Maryse Accorsi Samaroli, the wife of the legendary Silvano Samaroli. The Samaroli firm has been run by Antonio Bleve since 2008, however casks from Silvano's private collection have also been bottled under the Singles of Silvano Samaroli banner. These were initially supervised by the man himself, but since his death in 2017, the tradition has been lovingly continued by his wife.

This whisky was distilled in 1967 and aged in single casks #4688 and #5425. It was bottled in 2018 to celebrate Samaroli's 50th anniversary in the whisky industry.

Tomintoul distillery was built in Speyside in 1965 by two whisky brokering companies. It was later acquired by the parent firm of Whyte & Mackay, and folded into their portfolio in 1973. While its main function was the provision of its blends, as with all of its distilleries, Whyte & Mackay also had faith in its appeal as a single malt. It was introduced in the iconic "perfume bottles" at the end of the 1970s. The single malt brand was given more of a focus when the distillery was bought by Angus Dundee in 2000, who also introduced a peated variant called Old Ballantruan in 2005. Bottles from independent labels have also been common over the years.

This whisky was distilled in 1989, and spent 30 years in a bourbon barrel (DL13917)before being bottled in April 2020. Just 280 cask strength bottles were released for the Xtra Old Particular series at 52.8% ABV.

Nose: Rich, darkly malted, intriguingly spiced and fruity.

Palate: Warming and ginger spiced as the big palate opens showing later Muscovado sugar and the gentlest oak - all running to a stewed fruit and vanilla custard finish.

Complementing our fruit-forward Speyside spirit, maturation in these barriques have created a palate rich with juicy blackcurrant and sweet tannins. With the country?s highest wine classification as a Denomina??o de Origem Controlada (DOC), this historic region is a significant producer of robust, characterful red wines. The Sauvignon Blanc Cask Edition Whiskey is a work by the Speyside distillery Tamnavulin. Speyside is the perfect location for whiskey production: there is a unique microclimate and the fertile farmland is ideal for growing grain. The Scottish distillery's delicate whiskey first rested in former bourbon barrels and was then refined in wine barrels that were previously filled with the finest Sauvignon Blanc.
