Our iteration of this year's Speyside. An elegant and sensual colt within our 2023 stables. A princely efflorescent malt carrying our nose to a whole host of places: the scent is Moorish, Latin perhaps, or rather Byzantine… smacking of the stone walls of Otranto, that bridgehead from Italy and what was left of the Western Empire, to the dazzling Constantinople. And immediately our mind is jolted back to the monasteries of Asia

Minor where myth, faith and search for self began in the mists of time.Then a great vegetable garden lush with plants all destined for the kitchen: aubergine, sweet pepper and mint; now lavender, an unknown number of flowers in full summer, powder and peach. All a prelude to an abundant satiating and fulfilling palate. A rich and dense spirit whose specific gravity is noteworthy. Leaving grooves on our tongue which, as second follows second, are filled with piquant and surprising meaning. We remain seated in a corner of the ballroom as we look on at the glitter of the gowns and envisage nights of passion between whiskies. Thoughts and fears entwine and perhaps darken us a little. Salento is a large herbarium made up of villages at the centre. Around them, the sea.

Grants Family Reserve is one of the worlds best loved Scotch whiskies and enjoyed in over 180 countries. First created by William Grant in 1898, the blend is today, five generations later, entrusted to Grants Master Blender, Brian Kinsman. Brian skilfully blends around 25 of the finest single malt and grain Scotch whiskies to make Grants Family Reserve. The basis for the blend is our widely acclaimed Girvan grain whisky. Vacuum distilled at a lower temperature to make it a lighter and more delicate spirit, it is then aged in oak to give it a deeper, sweeter, soft fruit flavour, creating the perfect foundation.

A sumptuous malt whisky blend, showcasing whiskies aged in Spanish wine casks. The name is a nod to our founders chance encounter with a man in the South of Spain, where he was introduced to Sherry for the first time. Years later, John was reacquainted with Sherry through whiskies aged in former Sherry casks, known for the rich, deep flavours they provide. It's a style of whisky John has been drawn to ever since.

The marrying of flavour attributes of our special triple distilled single malt (American oak, ex-Bourbon cask matured) with our Port cask matured single malt (French oak) provide a unique twist to Tasmanian whisky styles. Highlighting distinctive signature citrus nuances, akin to the most unique distilleries of Scotland and the lighter fruit sweet notes of European Port casks, it is fair to say that no Australian distillery has a comparative whisky expression. Incredibly smooth yet brooding with deft flavours, this expression has become one of the distillery's most popular palate pleaser.

Our Hellyers Road Distillery 15 Year Old Original Single Malt Whisky was vatted and married the most premium oak casks from our Oak Program and is non-chill filtered. This magnificent 15 year old whisky delivers exquisite flavour nuances, highlighted by our signature vanilla and citrus tones. Entwined by a calming softness - a reflection of time spent in our premium American Oak, this whisky has natural golden tones derived during natural maturation.

Amrut Distilleries recently launched an umbrella brand, the Single Malts of India, to showcase the hidden gem malts of India. Neidhal is described as a single malt eponymously sourced from a Neidhal or coastal region and is said to exhibit traits that uniquely spring from the locale. 

Tasting notes make mention of tropical fruits, vanilla punctuated by soft phenols and above all sea salt on the nose. On the palate, it is fruit cocktail and mesmerising phenols with a touch of iodine. The middle ground is an essay in chewability and a finish that is phenolic with a touch of sweet vanilla.

Two Tones refers to the two kinds of cask used for the maturation of this blended whisky; European oak which formerly held New Zealand red wine & American white oak used exclusively for whisky.

A single malt with a bold, tropical twist. A portion of this whisky is finished in barrels that previously held Caribbean rum - the result is a well balanced and exceptionally smooth whisky. Single malt, meet summer.

This unrivalled single malt matures for at least 18 years in the highest quality, handpicked oak casks, which creates a radiant golden colour and seductive floral and oaky aroma.

Deeply layered and complex, this rich and vibrant whisky delivers beautifully intricate flavours of malted caramel, vanilla, and raisins and lingers with a long, sweet, and pleasantly spicy finish.

This Glen Elgin Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a classic Speysider with a fuller body than most and an inherently luscious fruit character. This is a rare Sauternes Cask finish, distilled in June 2008 and bottled in August 2021.

Colour: Bright Gold.
Nose: Intensely sweet honey covered yellow stone fruits with bold floral notes.
Palate: The sweetness of the Sauternes wine is carried well on the palate alongside a touch of aniseed, buttery bakes and dark honey.
Finish: Long and lip-smackingly sweet.
Bottles: 298.

From the Whisky Cellar

The heavy new-make style of Aultmore lends itself perfectly to Sherry cask maturation and here is whisky from this very distillery, distilled in October 2011 and bottled in August 2021, that spent its entire maturation in a first-fill Oloroso Sherry Butt made from American (not the typical Spanish) Oak.

Colour: Burnished Copper.

Nose: Creamy mocha, barley sugar, dark fruits and butterscotch.

Palate: Condensed milk, fresh roasted Arabica coffee beans, California raisins and peanut brittle.

Finish: Mouth-filling and sweet with a creaminess that lingers long.

46% vol - FIRST FILL BOURBON

Benromach Cara Gold Malt is a limited release made using a combination of Cara Gold malted barley and our standard lightly peated malt. Matured in first-fill bourbon barrels, it offers perfumed and tropical fruit notes, leading to pepper and toasted malt with a hint of butterscotch, and a vibrant, sweet smoke finish.
