About this mezcal

The Marca Negra Tobala is a burly Mezcal. Certain batches are greater than 50% ABV and there are few mezcals in the US (especially agave Tobala) with this level of alcohol content. Though the strength of the spirit is unavoidable, the ABV does not overpower this mezcal. There are hints of tropical fruit flavor. As a Tobala, the bar is high and Mezcal Marca Negra has made this a very complex spirit by making it with such a high ABV.

The handprint on the bottle represents the tireless work of the master distillers and the ancient knowledge that marks each and every batch. Marca Negra seeks the purest and most diverse expressions of this fantastic spirit, wherever they made be found. Due to limited batch production, the product line changes constantly. New mezcal varieties are created while others cease to exist. Mezcal Marca Negra is 48% ABV or higher because the mezcal is bottled at the alcohol level preferred by the maestro mezcaleros. Named for the iconic protective wall that stretches behind their Butchertown distillery, Floodwall is a superb blend of superior, copper pot-distilled apple brandy aged in Kentucky bourbon barrels and 250-liter Oloroso sherry casks from Spain. Made from American apple brandy with a minimum age of four years, a full-bodied spirit at 100 proof alcohol strength. Floodwall is non-chill filtered with no post-distillation addition of apple flavor or essences, no Bois? (oak flavor or infusion), sugar or caramel color for an authentic, uncorrupted natural flavor and natural color.

Aromas of honeyed apple bouquet (unusually fresh) with lovely complexity. Quite floral, honeysuckle and butterscotch mingling with hints of whiskey, oak, and vanilla. Flavors are quite crisp, frisky and slightly mid-palate. ?Scotchy? and a little nutty rancio with sherry butterscotch and red-apple skin. Finish is oily with lots of legs. Hangs in on the tongue for ages with a racy back end finish.

Casamigos Mezcal is made using the traditional method. Once harvested, the piñas are split and laid to cook for 4–6 days in six-ton earthen pits lined with volcanic rock.

Depending on the season, Casamigos Mezcal ferments for 2–8 days before being distilled in covered copper pot stills. Casamigos is twice-distilled. 

 Notes of smoke and black pepper lead to a long silky finish.

Specially chosen barrels are aged a little longer than regular Jim Beam to make this full bodied, smooth and complex bourbon with its caramel and toffee notes.

Launched in 1968 as the first distillery expression of cask strength whisky, Glenfarclas' 105 has always been made by balancing a selection of ex-sherry casks, whose combined natural strength is exactly 60% ABV - 105 British proof. This new limited edition 105 has been made from casks that have matured for 16 years, with the classic Glenfarclas flavours of butterscotch, lashings of Christmas spices and rich, long-lasting dried fruit and woody tones.

This all-new single cask was selected by GlenAllachie's master blender Billy Walker, from an ex-Oloroso Hogshead. Matured for 13 years, the nose opens up with aromas of summer berries, hints of mocha and ginger and poached pears drizzled with butterscotch sauce. On the palate there are notes of cocoa dusted dried pineapple, grated cinnamon stick, boozy plum sauce, muscovado sugar and Manuka honey.

Aalborg Taffel Akvavit is the uncrowned king of aquavits - the original crystal clear Danish caraway aquavit. It was aquavit pioneer Isidor Henius who in 1846 first put the bottle of the characteristic red-white label on the lunch table. And it hasremained a permanent fixture ever since. Aalborg Taffel Akvavit -or R?d Aalborg as it is also known - continues to be Denmark's most popular spirit. It appears on both the Danes' lunch tables and at the banquets hosted by the Danish Royal Palace.With its alcoholic strength and intense caraway flavour AalborgTaffel Akvavit is perfect for all the traditional strong Danish lunch dishes, especially the marinated herring. It is also great with classic dinner courses such as roast and pork.

The latest batch of Wormtub has arrived, an intense sherry cask finished whisky from an undisclosed distillery in Speyside. Named after a wormtub condenser, which is the traditional equipment used to return the spirit vapour back to a liquid during distillation. This is a hearty dram, opening with a rush of black forest gateaux, rum & raisin truffle balls and booze-soaked cherries. Notes of caramelized orange and walnut tannin add a dryness, with the palate being sweet, weighty and long with the flavour of hot fudge sauce.

Part of the core single malt range, Dùn Cana combines peated
and unpeated spirit, matured first in the strong foundations of ex
American Rye casks, with a second maturation in Pedro Ximénez
and Oloroso sherry quarter casks. An annual release with each
edition offering slight points of difference in cask composition or
age. This multi award winning whisky exudes peppery spice, dried
sultanas and hints of vanilla, with a finish of lingering salty
chocolate and a light hint of aromatic wood smoke.

The third edition, The Beithir’s Tale 15 Years Old is the last of the Anthology has been aged for 15 years in a special designer charred bourbon casks, air-seasoned, heavily toasted and then lightly charged

AGE – 15 Years Old

COLOUR – Pale Straw

NOSE – Pungent, oily and spicy, rich notes of treacle wrap around creosote and smoked herbs. Toasted apples and raisins reveal a sweeter
underbelly. With water, eucalyptus and menthol burst forth as fennel and pine trail behind.

TASTE – Astoundingly balanced, a sizzling mouthfeel leads into peat smoke, coffee grits and currents. Sweet lemon balsam entwines with smoked mandarins, followed by a sharp, smoky tang.

FINISH – Finally, a long, meandering finish brings with it subtle hints of vanilla and smoked butter.
