This wine was created in 1952 by Charles Brotte with the co-operation of local Provençale glass and ceramic craftsmen. The original and surprising bottle shape represents the gnarled and twisted vines typical of the region due to their struggle of growing against the Mistral wind. La Fiole, “Phiala” in latin refers to a “precious bottle”. The bottle is exclusive as we are the only winery permitted to use this shape. “Pape” evokes the cru of Châteauneuf-du-Pape as well as the  presence of the Popes in the region and village in the Middle Ages. The bottle’s golden anthracite grey powder recalls wines of former times.

The wine is unique and of constant quality. A majority of Grenache, an important share of Reserve Wines – 30 to 40% (some of which are 5 years old) give it fruitiness, freshness and maturity, intensity and smoothness. The wine can be savoured immediately or be kept 5 to 7 years.

Pinotage is the signature grape of South Africa - a cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsault, created by Professor Abraham Perold in 1925. It is known for its spiced red fruit and smoky aromas, which combine to make a full bodied, deeply fruity and complex red. 

This wine lives up to Pinotage's classic flavour spectrum, delivering layers of spicy interest and a succulent, delicious, complex taste.

Kaapzicht is a fourth generation winery in Stellenbosch, South Africa. The winery was founded in 1946.

We are thrilled to have the wines of Domaine Marcel Deiss back in store, only this time with a wider range than we have had in the past. These cult French wines come from Alsace in north east France; the country's driest wine region and a territory long disputed between the French and the Germans. This history accounts for why these wines are made from grapes classically considered to be German in origin. All Deiss wines are certified organic, made from grapes grown biodynamically and they break new ground in style and quality. Many are field blends, made in homage to historical growing methods where many different grape varieties grew together alongside each other, were picked together and fermented together. 

This medium bodied, complex dry white is a blend of three classic Alsace white grapes, Muscat, Riesling and Pinot Gris with a little Pinot Noir added in, which comes from vines planted between 1977 and 1997, which are grown at high density of between 8,000 and 12,000 vines per hectare on white gravels. 

This grapes are pressed slowly from whole clusters for up to 12 hours followed by wild yeast fermentation with the wine being aged for 12 months in large old foudres.

The result is a complex dry white made from three great white grapes and one red. Maverick? Definitely. Delicious? Absolutely.

Chateau Peymouton has a deep ruby colour with  delicious aromas of blackcurrant and plum. On the palate the attack is powerful, with fine, silky tannins followed by notes of ripe red fruits and a lingering, subtle freshness on the finish of this wine.

This lovely dry Sauvignon Blanc has delicious bright fruit flavours and a French-Kiwi connection as it is made in the Loire Valley, France, by a family that also owns a winery in Marlborough. 

Flavours here are remarkably aromatic on the nose with floral and fruit aromas of citrus, apple and gooseberry aromas with hints of passionfruit on the palate.

95% Malbec and 5% Merlot from Cahors in the south of France. This is a juicy and concentrated wine with ample fruit flavours. Notes of plums and cherries are supported by subtle spiciness and a distinct minerality. This is a great value wine from a lesser known appellation.

Domaine Marcel Deiss is located in Bergheim, a small village nestling in the heart of the wine region of Alsace, equal distance from the northern and southern boundaries of the region. The current winemaker is Jean-Michel Deiss, who was born into a long-established family of wine growers, living at Bergheim since 1744.

Today he manages the domaine, which consists of 26 hectares (52 acres) of hillside vineyards spread over nine communes and approximately 20 kilometres.

The wines of Domaine Marcel Deiss have cult status with wine collectors and drinkers alike so we are thrilled to have a wide range of them back in store, only they are in limited supply, so if you're a fan or a curious newcomer, get in quick.

This wine is a field blend with Riesling, Auxerrois and Pinots, and offers gorgeous fruit weight.

Belasco de Baquedano is a leading winery located in the Mendoza region of Argentina. The winery is lucky enough to have very old vines of original Malbec vines first planted in 1910 - these old vines are the secret to Belasco De Baquedano's success. The old vines consistently produce wines that are full-bodied, juicy and complex with layers of flavour development.

100% Malbec from vines that are over 100 years old.  6 months in oak barrels.

This blend boasts an elegant aromas and flavors of plums, cherry, and violet flowers. It is ripe with strawberries and dark fruit. This full-bodied red finishes with well integrated tannins and moderate oak.

This blend can pair with a handful of dishes but a few we highly recommend trying are: baked ham with a honey, Dijon and thyme glaze or an old fashioned meat loaf.

Domaine Paul et Marie Jacqueson is a family-run estate in Rully, Burgundy, known for producing elegant and balanced wines. Established in the 1940s, the domaine focuses on sustainable practices and meticulous vineyard care.

The Rully vineyards benefit from limestone and clay soils, ideal for Chardonnay. The vines, around 30 years old, bring depth and complexity to the wine.

The Rully Blanc offers aromas of ripe pear, white peach, and subtle floral notes. On the palate, it's vibrant and fresh, with citrus, stone fruits, and a creamy texture, finishing with mineral-driven precision. Elegant and refined.

Domaine des Pothiers makes wines from Gamay Noir, the Beaujolais grape, only this producer is in the Cote Roannaise, in the northern Loire Valley. Eclipse is a pale pink sparkling wine made solely with Gamay Noir, using the Methode Ancestral technique; the oldest winemaking method to create sparkling wines via a fermentation in the bottle. This style is now affectionately known in wine circles as Pet Nat; an abbreviation for petillant natural, due to being naturally sparkling following its second ferment in the bottle. Unlike champagne, which is made this way, pet nat is not disgorged, so this style retains lees and therefore a touch of cloudiness. 

This bubbly is medium dry with 9% ABV, and really well balanced by crisp zingy acidity and savoury flavours. A great aperitif style.

Mourvedre is a southern French grape (also known as Mataro in Spain) and is known for its dark delicious chocolatey flavours and aromas of mocha, earth and bold black fruit ripeness. 

The late ripening Mourvedre grape is typically used as a blending grape but here it stands alone in a spicy, smooth, soft and fruity red. 

Cabernet Sauvignon (70%) plus Garnatxa, Sumoll, and other autochthonous varieties from Penedes in north west Spain

The Mas Candi vineyard is situated in Les Gunyoles in Avinyonet del Penedes. Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are picked from vineyard planted in 1982, using no chemical fertilizers, antifungal treatments or pesticides. Other varieties come from a 0.5 ha vineyard planted with Mando, Cannonnau (old Catalan Grenache grown in Sardinia), Monica (Sardinia) and Sumoll. Soils are composed of calcareous clay and gravel. Vineyard altitude is 300 metres above sea level, and the climate is Mediterranean.

Grapes are hand harvested in small bins and the wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged for 12 months on its lees before bottling.

Sweet, supple, spicy, warm black cherry and blackberry fruit with a lovely smooth texture and notes of tea, herbs and spice. Warm and ripe and mellow with lovely balance and well integrated oak. Supremely balanced.
