Pegasus Bay Winery is owned by the Donaldson family, who pioneered winemaking in the Waipara Valley in the heart of North Canterbury. This is one of New Zealand's greatest wine regions and one its most diverse, thanks to its long dry autumn growing season. This enables later ripening varieties such as Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon to ripen and produce wines such as this full bodied, juicy, age worthy red.
It drinks well now and can age and improve for the next five to seven years. Serve in a large glass, decanted prior to enjoying.
