Unit price perOur multi-award winning Best Bitter now part of the Sprig + Fern Brewing Co. core range of beers – try it once and you’ll soon see why it’s sticking around!
This well-known English-style beer has earned it’s stripes as a hoppier, and therefore more bitter counterpart to the typically mild pale ales of its time. It’s notched a few medals along the way, too:
2023: GOLD – Australian International Beer Awards, Highly Commended – New World Beer & Cider Awards
2016: Best British Ale – Brewers Guild of New Zealand Beer Awards
Our Best Bitter blends five speciality malts to give the ideal balance of sweetness, providing well rounded toffee and biscuit characteristics. This is in combination with just the right amount of hops to accent the bitterness, and give a fruity, earthy aroma without dominating this malt-driven beer.
Amber in colour, bitter yet smooth in flavour, and malty in finish, the award-winning Best Bitter is one not to miss! Available in 440ml cans and 1.25L riggers – as well as on tap at all Sprig + Fern Taverns.

Our Pilsner is brewed with soft Waitakere water, German Pilsner malt and Motueka hops, then fermented with a classic Bavarian lager yeast. This Pilsner offers firm bitterness up front, followed by lemon/lime notes from the hops, and leading through to a refreshingly dry finish.

Unit price perFor the fourth edition of the Haze of the People series, we once again put the decision in your hands – this time asking the public to choose the hops that would make the cut. The result? A globe-trotting line-up of NZH-106, Saphir, Citra and Vic Secret, coming together from New Zealand, Germany, the USA and Australia. With such a far-flung selection, the name for this hazy adventure practically wrote itself: 'Four on Tour'.

Unit price perHarvest Pilsner™; a beer that tells a tale of sixty seasons, of bines grown big and tall, of countless hop cones brewed, and of the hundreds of hands involved in bringing you the freshest flavour year after year. This is more than just a fresh hop beer, Harvest Pilsner™ is a true taste of a moment in time.
This year’s harvest marks the fifteenth anniversary of our multi-award-winning fresh hop pilsner. For 2025, it’s been carefully crafted with local Riwaka™ and Motueka™ hops from the Tasman region, hand-selected, collected, and raced back to the brewery by our Master Brewer, Tracy Banner. They lend exquisite and more-ish notes of mixed citrus and tropical fruit, a pleasant sweetness and a bright, resinous note. These are balanced against a rock-solid foundation of a crisp, dry, and quite frankly terrific pilsner.

Unit price perCrisp and clean like a snowball to the face is how we describe our pilsner. Different to classic European pilsners but with the heritage of all imported malts to create that signature flavour and mouthfeel. Called an NZ pilsner as it is hopped with all NZ varieties that scream to be shown, the riwaka and nelson sauvin show a medly of grape and passionfruit with a lime zing. Light to medium bodied with the creamy mouthfeel of well brewed german malts and a crisp refreshing bitterness to quench the thirst. Winner of a gold medal at 2021 brewers guild awards.

"Sick as, bruh" meant something different for New Plymouth's surfers back in the day. It was probably what they were telling their General Practitioner after paddling through the proverbial let go from the town's 'revolutionary' sewerage system installed in 1933. Thankfully, things have been cleaned up since then, allowing for a much more refreshing ocean experience at the surf break known as 'Bogworks', located directly outside our Brewery. A combination of clean, light malts and crisp Riwaka hops make this New Zealand Pilsner the perfect way to cap off a day catching the big ones.

We’ve been on a journey to find the pinnacle of NZ hops, so when we discovered experimental Bract NZH-106, we knew we had to brew the perfect beer for it. This quintessential New Zealand pilsner is fresh, bright, and thirst-quenching, with tropical hops and a bready backbone. It’s all down-hill from here, because this trip starts at the pinnacle.

Unit price perIt seemed apt to name our Pilsner after the home of Pilsner beer; the Czech Republic.
However, this is a very kiwi take on the Czech classic, due to unconventional dry-hopping. The Saaz and Wakatu dominated hop blend creates a floral Pilsner with a crisp, refreshing palate.
