Porter is the oldest commercially brewed style and London Porter was Emerson’s first beer. Dark, dry and mellow with some hoppy characteristics, pours a deep brown colour with reddish tints. The aroma is toasty, with a hint of sweetness and some earthy hop notes. Firm-bodied but not heavy, with a creamy texture, the dryish palate is full of roasted malt, coffeeish notes and a sustained bitterness.

The brewing process starts just as it always has, but with 0.0 the alcohol is gently removed through a cold filtration method. Brewed with well water (the original well at the Old Brewery, sunk in 1758, is still in use, with the hard well water being drawn from 85 feet underground), malted barley, roasted malt, yeast and hops. Fermented in ‘stone Yorkshire squares’.

A year stored away has allowed this once brash beer to mellow out a bit and take on a much smoother character. Despite the huge Abv this stout is very drinkable with Roasty and cocoa flavours and a balanced smokey finish. As time goes by this beer will develop more character and become even smoother.

Our 2022 Brewer's Guild Trophy winner is named after the Dark Sky Reserve in the Mackenzie Basin. This beer is best enjoyed on a wintery evening whilst partaking in some shooting star spotting. A pitch black pour with a tight tan head reveals an abundance of complex coffee, chocolate and caramelized sugar aromas that meld with roasted grains and some wood char. Light and creamy is the first impression; giving way to coffee and campfire roast marshmallows finishing with a dry and lengthy roasty bitterness that's classic of the style.

ABV: 6.5%

Mista Hustla is a big, bold distinguished pastry stout and proudly “Pastry AF.” We start with a dense, multi-grain mash and fold in velvety peanut butter and rich hot chocolate, then hustle in the lactose for an extra-creamy, dessert-like mouthfeel.

Slowly conditioned in stainless steel, this impy stout unleashes waves of molten chocolate fudge and toasted peanut undertones before finishing on a luxuriously smooth vanilla note.
