NOSE - The nuanced aroma reveals  whiffs of sweet cereals, fresh  oak and pipe tobacco with  touches of leather, nutmeg and  vanilla.

PALATE - The Original Cask  Strength is sweet and  spicy with notes of vanilla,  toffee and sea salt along  with hints of cinnamon  and pepper. Long finish with lingering spice,  oak tannins, iodine and sea salt.

This Gewurztraminer shows notes of mango, ginger, nutmeg and rose petal on the nose. The palate is powerful, with fruit flavours supporting a smooth flowing structure that lingers in the mouth.

Oude Gueuze (ABV 6%) from traditional lambic producer Hanssens Artisanaal is a Gueuze Lambic that pours hazy orange-gold with an off white head.

Lambics of several vintages are blended, then receive a secondary fermentation in the bottle, which is cellared for a minimum of six months.

The strong, tart, funky aroma contains notes of earthy wood, cut hay, lemon, sour apple and vanilla. The taste is assertively, intensely tart, with flavors of rhubarb and citrus augmented by earthy, nutty notes. Crisp, refreshing and bracing, with relative dryness and high carbonation, this is a great example of the Belgian Gueuze.

Rittenhouse Bottled in Bond Rye Whisky is not only an excellent spirit, but also remarkable value. The evocatively named Central Otago winery, Wooing Tree, is as famous for its pink wines as for its full bodied Pinot Noirs. Tickled Pink is a light rosé, made 100% from Pinot Noir as a sweet wine. Flavours of strawberries, red berries and honey are well balanced by refreshing acidity, which adds length and zestiness to this wine. It's a great match with soft creamy cheese as well as with your favourite pudding.

Mcleod's Brewery - A stronger version of a Belgian Blonde Ale, this one is all about fruity, alcohol-driving aromas of pear & spice. With a rich, surprisingly full palate, it's light in colour & dry with a hint of bitterness over a long, complex finish. Bottle-conditioned, so don't stir in the sediment & pour slowly. Ridiculously drinkable now, but it will cellar up to five years.
