Bright, crisp and floral, this winner of a golden ale gets its refreshing elderflower notes from Goldings and WGV hops. Medal-worthy indeed. But unlike the vaulting harvest mouse, you won’t have to bend over backwards to enjoy it.

MAXIMUS XX WCIPA 6.8%

A flash back to 2009, the original Maximus IPA recipe before the good American hops ran out. Loads of mid boil hops for huge hop flavour and excessive bitterness. Then dry hoped to within an inch of your life. A tribute to the good old days when IPAs were bitter and malt was still cool.

An ongoing series of occasional one-off releases inspired by the nice ideas captured in our Lyall Bay Brewery.

Produced from an assemblage of different plots in the commune of Ampuis, the white Cotes du Rhone from Domaine Jamet is northern in character. Mainly produced from Marsanne and Viognier grapes, this wine is fresh, with minerality, and provides immediate enjoyment.

Appelation - Cotes du Rhone
Geology - Schist and clay-limestone soil
Grape varieties - 60% Marsanne, 30% Viognier, 7% Roussane, 3% Grenache Blanc
Vinification - Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation partly in barrels and partly in tanks
Maturation - 50 % oak barrels and 50 % stainless steel tanks
Plot - Lezardes, Cognet, Plomb, Tartaras, Champrond.

“Offering good value, made from hand-harvested grapes from the estate’s younger vines and matured for one year in French Oak.  Full, bright ruby, mouthfilling, generous and supple.   Cherry, plum, spice and slight tamarillo flavours with savoury notes adding complexity and fresh acidity to keep things lively.  At best mid-’26.  A ‘serious’ but approachable wine”

Richard Emerson loves it when his ears burn. It either means he's being talked about, or he's drinking one of his absolute favourites: a chilli chocolate stout. This luxurious decadent brew is made with cocoa, red chillies, and Belgian yeast, giving it a deliciously complex rich plum, raisin, and chocolate flavour, a smooth velvety texture, and of course a warming spicy finish. Don't worry, while Deaf by Chocolate may make your ears tingle a little, it won't actually make you deaf.
