Certified LOW CARB! This beer is bursting with fresh aromas of pineapple, citrus, peach and passionfruit and loaded with oats and wheat for a smooth, lush mouthfeel. The brewing process leaves this beer with almost no residual sugar, making this a low carb option with big booming flavour!

5.6% ABV.

Liberty Brewing - Originally brewed for the West Coast IPA Challenge in 2013, the name of this beer wasn't always planned to be so grotesque.  You see...  I had penned the name pretty much every hop variety i could get from the USA thrown in.  However, whilst filling the kegs for this esteemed competition, a song came on Spotify and made the task so much more enjoyable that i decided to change the name.  But let's face it: Yakima Kitchen Sink was a bit of rubbish really!

Anyhow, regardless of the name the beer continued to take out the champion spot which was one of the proud moments in my life.  It's just a shame i wasn't there to enjoy the celebrations!

7.1% ABV.

With predominantly local hops and slightly above-average alcohol content, our Red IPA has the same confidence and individuality that characterise our own former colony. Tantalising passionfruit aromas give way to a delightful and unexpected combination of berries, tart ruby grapefruit and a comforting toasty malt on the palate, rounded off with a satisfying, sustained finish.

6.4% ABV

When you own a brewery you might as well name a beer after yourself, and you better make it a big American hopped Double IPA. The Big George is hopped with Citra and Ekanot, giving it a mighty pineapple and citrus tropical hit.

Independence means thinking for ourselves and we value that in others. Making a beer without alcohol was a challenge we wanted to meet. We have an ethos of resourcefulness and creativity in how our brewery is run and all of that was needed in brewing this beer with aroma, great mouthfeel and balance. Passionfruit Hazy IPA

A hazy IPA bursting with juicy tropical aroma and a punch of reel passionfruit. 

6.0%

A rich sweet stout with layers of chocolate, coffee, and creamy vanilla, reminiscent of tiramisu.

A 6% Hazy IPA that inflates your senses with tropical bursts of pineapple, passionfruit, and stone fruit. Brewed with Nectaron, Rakau, and Idaho 7 hops, it offers a smooth mouthfeel and a balanced bitterness that won’t deflate your expectations.

Flavours: Little ABV doesn't mean little on our hop flavours. We are looking at BIG refreshing notes of mango, tropical fruits and citrus balanced with oats for a bit of body!

CHERIMOYA & SAGE BLENDED SOUR ALE

ABV 6.0%

Occasionally we can get our hands on some of this magical fruit. Grown in Northland, cherimoya - also known as the custard apple - has a soft, sweet aroma and delicious creamy pear like texture. We added them to a mixed-culture saison base for six months then removed the fruit and added fresh sage leaves for a few more months. This was then blended with a barrel-aged Hefeweizen for a truly unique and special brew. Aromas of sage and clove with notes of lemon and fruit-driven funk dominate with a palate both clean and bright over tart lemon zest-laden sourness and a dry finish. With so many layers of complexity, this beer will age well for 4-6 years.

Hazy Pale Ale with a fresh and fruity burst from an eclectic mix of NZ and US hops. We kept it pretty relaxed on the ABV but it still jams out a punch for you hazy heads. A chill brew to make the birds sing whether the sun is shining or not.

4.7% ABV

A good watchdog is the perfect companion, a relaxed and friendly presence but always alert and attentive. It’s a rare mix of traits but our brewers have taught a similar trick to this Watchdog, a refreshingly non-alcoholic IPA, with a pale malt backbone and lively hop flavours of citrus and stonefruit, but no bite.
