During his time in Scotland, Charles Edward Stuart would carry with him a mysterious draught, from which he would drink a few drops every day. Nobody knew for certain what this formula was; only that it had been created by the Royal Apothecary. The apothecary would have imbued the drink with protective properties. He must have chosen Cloves - a dried flower bud of an Indonesian tree. This aromatic spice is still used for its powerful analgesic properties. Only the most prized spices would have been used. Many are convinced that saffron was the main ingredient. Not only was it renowned for its medical and sedative properties, but it would also have given the drink its rich golden colour. The secret selection of herbs, spices and Scottish heather honey is then infused by hand into the Scotch whisky base. Named after a local mountain bike trail, this IPA has a large malt character and a huge hop profile. Dry hopped with Simcoe and Amarillo hops to give it that great floral aroma and citrus finish. If you like IPA you'll find this one Just Outstanding.

Ever heard of Pelaverga?

It's not exactly a household name, even in the households of wine lovers. It is the name of a red grape grown in Piemonte in north west Italy. Even in its homeland there, it's pretty rare, and best known for making light, smooth fruity reds, such as this one, which is an interesting different take on northern Italian red wine.

• Matured in American White Oak ex-bourbon barrels for 12 years and finished in Oloroso Sherry casks from Jerez, Spain
• Tasting Notes: A refined succulent trpical nose with aromas of chocolate, walnut and citrus fruit coming forward. Flavours of honey, salted bananas and brown sugar, with a whisper of smoke

Argentina does Malbec better than anyone on a mass scale, much of it due to the plentiful vineyards planted at altitude in the foothills of the Andes Mountains where sunshine enhances ripening and cool night temperatures elongate the ripening season to accentuate much needed acidity in this grape. These factors combine to provide growing conditions that are unmatched anywhere else in the world that Malbec is planted on a large scale. Wines like this one are testament to the dense fruit character, spicy notes and complexity of good Malbec, often at a relatively modest price.

We love this wine and it also carries organic certification, another thing the dry climate in Argentina allows for with relative ease, but that's another story.

Timorasso is one of the great white grapes of northern Italy and it nearly died out following phylloxera in the late 1800s, until it was revived in the small Colli Tortonesi DOC of Piedmonte.

The fact that this expression is a 10 year old blended malt is not a coincidence - in dog years, it would be 70 year old. The cheeky fox terrier on the label even has the monocle to prove it.

Containing a blend of rums from 6 to 25 years old, with an extra ageing stage in French oak barrels that previously held cognac Keynote A perfectly balanced combination of sweetness, spice, fruit and spirit, a connoisseur?s delight and the ultimate expression of the Master Blender's art. 

Appearance:  Mahogany with intense red hints of long barrel ageing at the rim and long, slow legs. 

Nose:  A very open nose with a wealth of aromas that seem to evolve each time you nose the glass; a great balance of mature toasted oak, burnt caramel, dry-roasted nuts, marzipan and orange peel; a delicate floral note of honeysuckle in the background. 

Palate:  A wonderfully complex and satisfying balance of sweetness, fruit, spice and spirit, all tempered by the extra ageing stage in ex-cognac French oak barrels; long, smooth and sweet with a weight of dark cherry chocolate and flavours of intense dried fruits like sultana, date and prune; sweet oak spices of clove, vanilla and cinnamon, and lighter notes of dried mango and raspberry, with a subtle hint of ginger to finish.

Blend of grains, untouched post fermentation and aspiringly hopped with Simcoe, Citra and Centennial

6.2% ABV

The Alary family's involvement in viticulture and wine production dates back as far as 1692. The estate now comprises 29 hectares of vines of which 26 hectares are Grenache dominant and 3 are Rousanne dominant - with holdings in Rasteau and Cairanne.

The wine is a deep red colour and opens with a nose of dried fruit, ripe plums and savoury notes. The palate is broad and rich with dark plum fruits and good tannin structure leading to a long mineral finish.

Unfined, unfiltered and organic.

A stout brewed with the addition of lactose sugar and a small dose of Dominican cacao nibs during fermentation.  The result is deliciously balanced, soft and creamy, with a toasty, dark chocolate finish.

6.1% ABV.

A complex, bold and dry Bourbon, reknowned by conniseurs the world over. Orange toffee, lime zest, almonds and rich cocoa.This is pretty classy bourbon - if you put c(r)oke anywhere near it we'll pop round and take it off you!
