Winery

Tapiz is one of the new and successful wineries in Argentina. Our success is based on our great terroirs, our brand new equipment and technology and, above all, our strong and experienced team. Winemaker Fabian Valenzuela was joined by Jean Claude Berrouet in 2012. Jean Claude is the recently-retired winemaker of Petrus, having presided over 44 vintages at this revered Bordeaux winery. We are proud that Jean Claude chose to work with us exclusively in Argentina.

We are a 100% family business, that started 10 years ago with a clear mission:  to produce the best wines and olive oils possible, protecting the environment and preserving regional cultures.

Our terroir defines us and our products are our finest expression of this identity. We are convinced that to achieve these goals, we must produce our grapes, so that every year each segment remains its style and quality.  We have 8 vineyards in the best and most representative wine areas, Globalgap and Good Manufacturing certified, allowing us to have lines with specific characteristics of each region.

Tasting Notes

The aromas and flavors of fresh fruit such as apple, pear, and peach are amalgamated with mineral touches and orange peel. French oak adds notes of caramel and honey. It is a long-lasting wine in the mouth.

Technical Information

Vineyards: San Pablo Estate  

Varietal: 100% Chardonnay.

Average Vineyard Altitude: 1350 Metres 

Fermentation: Pre-fermentative cold maceration. Alcoholic Fermentation is carried out in new and second use French oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation.

Aging: 6 to 8 months of barrel.

Alcohol: 14.0% 

Bright tropical fruit, balanced with crisp acidity, dry on the finish.

A Kosher-certified wine.

Sunset Beach Pineapple IPA

Inspired by the legendary waves of Sunset Beach Port Waikato, where golden light meets rolling waves. This PineappleIPA is a tropical escape in every sip, bursting with juicy pineapple sweetness and a crisp malt backbone. A bright hop blend adds layers of citrus and stone fruit, balancing the brew with just the right amount of bitterness. Refreshing and full of island vibes, it’s the perfect way to end the day—no matter where you are.

Boneface + Liberty Collaboration 440ml

Out hop-spotting together in Motueka, Boneface and Liberty tripped over a hidden field of Riwaka missed by the official harvest. The aromas from the ultra-ripe cones blew the boys' minds so they wasted no time in lifting the lot. With Mike going Hazy and Joe heading Pilsner, the Longshot project was born, determined to make the most of the funky overstayers before they succumbed to rot and ruin. Now it's your turn to discover both.

It's dry, tangy green apple goodness; 2x 330ml Apple Crumble Cider, A Kiwi classic with many awards and fans! This cider tastes exactly like freshly baked apple crumble and vanilla ice cream. It's delicious!; 2x 330ml Hazy Passionfruit Infused Cider, This delicious drop is crafted using juicy, tropical passionfruit and our freshly crushed Hawke's Bay apples. It's unfiltered, zingy and bursting with the real fruit flavour zeffer are known for.

The first new Makers Mark recipe for at least 50 years, Maker's 46 is named for the number of different wood 'recipes' they tried before getting it right. Bottled at 47% it is matured in part in barrels containing a 'ladder' of toasted new French oak barrel staves to give more spice, sweetness and vanilla.

Aroma: Hints of toasty French oak, caramel and baking spices

Taste: Mildly sweet and uniquely layered with deep rich notes of vanilla and baking spice

Finish: Velvety, subtle and pleasingly long

"Since 1815, each Laphroaig Distillery Manager has been the custodian of the craft to make the richest single malt in the world. Over the years, each has passed on their skills and traditions to the next generation to continue this legacy. To honour this passing of knowledge, our Distillery Manager John Campbell has created Laphroaig Lore, the richest ever Laphroaig. Lore, meaning the passing of a skill or tradition through word of mouth, is the story of how we make Laphroaig, encapsulating the craft passed down from generation to generation over two centuries. ‘Lore’ is a marriage of classical Laphroaig styles and many ages of Laphroaig; some as old as vintage 1993. 

The marriage draws from the peaty power of Laphroaig with the smoothness of double matured stock finished in European oak hogsheads. Let us share with you the crafts behind this stunningly complex expression. To create Lore we used both American oak and European oak. The former smaller barrels give the strong rich peaty flavours and a longer maturation for the large European Hogsheads until all the deep complexities are slowly released from the wood. Stored in our old dunnage warehouse beside the Atlantic the briny sea air replaces the ‘Angels share’ in the barrels over the ‘long sleep’."

Aromas of citrus & stone fruit up front, that’s then followed onto the palate with Nectarines & Peaches, just one big juicy fruit bowl all round, thanks to NZ Hops NZH-109 trial hop in this Hazy IPA.

Our entry for the NZIPA Challenge doesn’t need a fancy name, it is what it is – a Good As! NZIPA.

A combo of Kiwi hops pop off with big orange notes – think freshly picked from the tree, and an old school 50c mix of sherbet and gummy sweets – with hints of grape and resin. There’s an easy-drinking bitterness to bring it together, and a smooth malt sweetness to finish. What more can we say – it’s Good As!
