We met Theo, the founder, from DEYA in the UK last year at the 2025 harvest, and this year, Gareth, the head brewer was over to hang out amongst the bines. One of the UK's best, these guys make beautiful beer and are all round good humans - it was our pleasure to host them for a collab. We have brewed a West Coast pilsner with a cool point of difference. The first ever pelletised harvest of Garston hops Riwaka. This unique twist adds a sexy tangy depth to aromas of passion, tangerine and old-fashioned lemonade. This is complimented by a crisp, tight and lean base and balanced with an assertive, refreshing bitterness.

THE YARN BEHIND THE BREW

Port Taranaki’s own salty puss - ‘Colin’s’ the cat shot to fame in 2001 when a free feed saw her accidentally stow away on the methanol tanker 'Tomiwaka' - bound for Korea.

The chatty tortoiseshell snoozed her way out of the country and into national headlines, sparking daily updates, TV appearances, and an international rescue mission. Cat food giant ‘Whiskas’ flew her home in style before she was crowned honorary ambassador of New Plymouth.

THE YARN BEHIND THE BREW

The year was 1930 when the New Zealand Oil Refineries began producing petrol, meaning that for the first time, Taranaki people could buy oil from their own oilfields. After several teething problems - including oil tanks solidifying in the cold weather leaving farmers to defrost their fuel tanks with blowtorches, Peak Petrol was born. Like a few beer brands that we all know, "Taranaki's own high-octane fuel' eventually fell away to the multinationals, but we're paying tribute with our own high-octane brew, loaded with a ridiculous amount of American and New Zealand grown hops that leave a tropical, resinous slick on the tongue.

This Belgian inspired Sour Beer is a mix of 12 and 24 month old mixed ferment, oak barrel aged ales rested on crushed Black Doris Plums, and then conditioned in bottle with fresh Brettanomyces Yeast. Store upright in the fridge for at least 24 hours before gently decanting.

The 2023 Vintage Stout is the fifth release of our ‘Vintage’ range of yearly Barrel Aged releases.

This Imperial Stout was brewed with a ‘Reiterated’ Double Mashing schedule, in which the second mash is mixed in with high gravity Wort from the first mash. This process allows us to extract a more concentrated sweet Wort, which feeds the yeast to create a higher alcohol brew.

A small addition of dextrose sugar in the fermenter added an extra hit of alcohol which gives this beer a warming balance to the oak tannins. We then decanted the beer into New Zealand Whisky Barrels from Pōkeno Distillery, and left the beer to rest for nine months.

The process of Oak ageing creates a chemical reaction between the wood and the beer, in which flavour compounds such as tannins and vanillins leach into the beer, creating a rounded and complex flavour. By treating the oak barrel as an additional ‘ingredient’ we’ve been able to create this complex and rich brew that is perfect for winter nights, and will also cellar extremely well as it gains complexity with ageing.

Inspired by the cold clarity of the Isarco River in the Italian Dolomites, this is lager at its most refined. Premium German malt brings delicate cracker sweetness, while noble hops add bright citrus and soft floral jasmine. Patiently lagered for five weeks for brilliant clarity and naturally carbonated for a tight, creamy foam. Crisp, elegant, and as refreshing as alpine water.

NO MAN'S LAND BOURBON BARREL-AGED IMPERIAL STOUT - FRESH RELEASE!!

No Man's Land is a bold bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout brewed in collaboration with Nowhere Bourbon, aging our imperial stout in their freshly emptied barrels. Subtle oak & vanilla support rich chocolate, roast, biscuit and caramel, finishing with warming spirit character.

AUTUMN: RHUBARB FARMHOUSE ALE

This beer emphasizes process over excess. Starting with floor-malted pilsner malt & followed by a dual stage inoculation of Saison & white wine yeasts to shape mouthfeel, dryness & subtle funk. Final structure is added by conditioning on rhubarb.

Hazy Pale Ale with a fresh and fruity burst from an eclectic mix of NZ and US hops. We kept it pretty relaxed on the ABV but it still jams out a punch for you hazy heads. A chill brew to make the birds sing whether the sun is shining or not.

5.5% - Nelson Lakes Hazy IPA

Splash out with Hazy IPA, brewed with the pick of the Nelson Lakes Hop Harvest. Motueka, Cascade and Nelson Sauvin bring super juicy stone fruit and bright citrus top notes in a lush smooth hazy base that’s as refreshing as a moonlit dip. It’s naughty, but it’s nice.
