Unit price perYou can have too much of a good thing. London, October 17, 1814, one of the Horse Shoe Brewery’s massive beer vats collapses releasing over half a million litres of porter, demolishing nearby buildings and killing eight people - their causes of death variously described as drowning or drunkenness. The Great Deluge, brewed with barley, oats, roasted wheat and East Kent Goldings, then aged in oak barrels for over a year with brettanomyces and lactobacilli creating a throwback style porter with dark chocolate and coffee notes and a restrained tart twist. Unit price perTorpedo Extra IPA takes its name from the device that Sierra Nevada invented to dry hop the beer adding aromatic oils to the conditioning brew without adding undue bitterness. Torpedo IPA utilizes Magnum, Crystal and the new Citra hop varieties in the whole cone form. Torpedo pours a brilliant gold with a healthy white head. On the nose there are complex layers of tropical fruit, grapefruit, orange, black pepper, and a herbaceous green note. In the mouth the beer is a raging advertisement for American hops, layers of citrus and piney resin are built upon a solid malt backbone. Finally there is a long dry finish. This is the ultimate beer for spicy cuisine.
Try it with a Thai curry or spicy barbequed food.

Unit price perA good watchdog is the perfect companion, a relaxed and friendly presence but always alert and attentive. Unit price perA unique beer, born of a pilgrimage across the USA and Australia to visit some of the world’s most exciting wild and sour breweries. In an act of characteristic openness and generosity, each brewery gifted a sample of their own ‘house culture’, the collection of yeast and bacterial strains responsible for their beer’s unique flavour. From these gifts we produced 11 different barrels, then blended them with a barrel of our own house culture, creating a deliciously complex beer, with a restrained acidity and citrus fruit notes. A true celebration of brewing culture.
