In 2022, we released our own gluten free version of our flagship beer, Punk IPA. This light, golden classic has been subverted with new world hops to create an explosion of flavour. Bursts of caramel and tropical fruit with an all-out riot of grapefruit, pineapple and lychee, precede a spiky bitter finish. When it comes to brewing gluten free beer, we start the process in the normal way, using malted barley to make our wort (a sugary-sweet liquid that forms the fermentable base of our beer). The removal of gluten comes later in the process through an enzymatic addition. The introduction of this enzyme works its magic by binding all of the gluten in that beer, so when we filter the beer the gluten gets filtered out in the process. There’s no witchcraft involved in the process. As our Head of Quality says, ‘it’s just simple chemistry’.

From NZ's first dedicated non-alcoholic craft brewery, State of Play, comes a Double Dry Hopped Pale Ale. Double the hops.  Double the brewtiful beery bitterness. Nectaron is a new hop from NZ Hops that has the complete Kiwi signature - it is very fresh, fruity and fun (and yum).  A lot of Nectaron is added as a 'Dry Hop'.  This is at the very end of the brewing process.  Hops added at the very end of brewing will give you the upfront aroma and flavour.

Using a special yeast, this beer is naturally brewed, retaining all the flavour while only producing a tiny amount of alcohol - in this UNFILTERED PALE ALE it is only 0.3% ABV.

Hazewired
New Zealand Hazy IPA

Following the footsteps of trailblazing older brother Hopwired, Hazewired is a beer set to forge its own path. Packed with a plethora of the best NZ Hops, we’ve borrowed Nelson Sauvin and Motueka from Hopwired. An injection of ultra-modern varieties Nectaron and Superdelic makes for one big, juicy Hazy IPA, loaded with notes of tropical mango, candied pineapple and passionfruit. An ode to the past, forged in the present.

4.5% ABV 330ml

Much like the iconic Blowhole off Leisure Island here in Mt Maunganui this Pale Ale has been around a long time and is well known by locals. A sessionable balanced beer. Full of fruit aromas and flavours backed by a clean, crisp malt body.

Hapi Daze (4.6% Pacific Pale Ale); Sessionable in strength, bright golden in colour and loaded with generous quantities of aromatic New Zealand hops. Very friendly indeed.

Sunset Surf Pale Ale brings a wave of US Loral and NZ Nectaron hops for big flavour! This wee gem has floral pineapple and soft citrus notes over a smooth malty base with just enough bitterness to keep it refreshing and crisp.

5.3% ABV.

After the massive success of our Blue low carb pale ale we have a new low carb 6 pack to add to our range. Crush is a full flavoured Hazy Pale Ale with 75% less carbs than Joose Party.

Golden, aromatic and zesty: Sierra Nevada Pale Ale offers up a tangy tropical cocktail of grapefruit, tangerine, and pineapple. In the mouth the beer is complex and fruity with citrus and pine flavours supported by a juicy rich malt backbone and a dry finish. Sierra Nevada Pale is the perfect accompaniment to the fresh spicy American cuisine like tacos, chili or barbequed meats.

If you like medium bodied, easy to drink, golden pale ales, this one’s for you. Tropical fruit aromas over a sweet malt base makes this a go-to beer for every occasion.

For this beer we used Nelson Sauvin, Mosaic, Citra and Galaxy hops.
Imagine a big juicy bowl of Kiwi Fruit, strawberry, blueberry,peach, orange and pear, jam it all in a blender and call it an IPA - it’s our hazy hop salad.

6.7% - Joooshy Hazy Pale Ale

You want it! More Jooosh, extra joooshy hazy pale. Loaded with all the joooshiest hops we can lay our hands on - Krush, a special batch of Cornerstone Ranch Mosaic, Sativa blend, El Dorado and a generous splash of Krush Hyperboost. It’s a veritable fruit salad of mango, pineapple, blueberry, peach and lime. Sooo joooshy!
