Southward Distilling Co. - There is a place where adventure starts.  This wild place is the inspiration for our distillery.  Made up of garden grown, wild and traditional botanicals. We are a modern take on distilling inspired by the wild beauty of New Zealand.

Taking it’s inspiration from the ocean, our Wave gin is our take on a more classic style of gin. We wanted to balance our bold Mountain gin with something that gives a nod to what you may be familiar with in a gin.

At a slightly higher proof of 47% to still maintain a boldness in cocktails, we use sugar kelp to give this gin a touch of sweetness, while being balanced with rose, subtle citrus and liquorice root. The Wave is versatile gin for all your cocktails and great for classic gin lovers.

A Navy Strength bottling of Roots Marlborough Dry Gin with the addition of organic Akaroa giant kelp and Hawke's Bay hemp seed. A crisp and robust 'London Dry' style gin with aromatic reminiscence of the stormy Pacific seas. Named after the strong Norwest winds of the south Pacific and prevailing Marlborough weather systems.

Distilled entirely on estate from eight seasonally sourced botanicals and gunpowder proofed in recognition of Royal Navy gins of old.

ALBA Charred Pineapple Sparkling Margarita - Made with authentic Mexican tequila.

This sparkling margarita blends charred pineapple, fresh lime and real tequila. It’s tropical refreshing and unapologetically ALBA.

A wonderfully rich coffee vodka liqueur from Jumping Goat, which blends fair trade organic cold brew coffee with spices, spring water and New Zealand vodka! What's with the name? As the legend goes, renowned Ethiopian goatherd Kaldi was watching his goats nibbling coffee berries and jumping around, and was inspired to harvest them (the berries, of course) and make a delicious brew!

Tasting Notes: Super rich and chocolaty, with roasted coffee bean, warming spices and slightly bitter espresso.

Small batch natural Rum.  Made in a traditional 100% copper pot still.  Tasting notes of Vanilla, Caramel, Butterscotch, and charred oak.  Best served with ginger ale, ice, and fresh lime.

High quality gingerbread liqueur  from French artisan producer Briottet. All the Briottet range have proper 'real' fruit (or in this case, cake) flavour integrity - they taste like the fruit/cake itself, not some confected approximation. Highly recommended!

Four years minimum ageing in oak casks give Château du Breuil Calvados V.S.O.P. softness and balanced amber colour. The fruity elegance of an "Appellation Pays d'Auge Contrôlée" Calvados.

Tasting notes:  This is a clear, dark, coppery amber colour with burnished copper highlights, on the nose there is sweet molasses, banana, chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon and mild ginger.  On the palate it is extremely smooth finish despite its high alcohol content with a long, lingering finish.

Calle 23 (pronounced Kai-Yay 23) tequila is the result of a journey started in 2003 by French-born biochemist Sophie Decobecq. Sophie’s patience and passion drove her to create a tequila that could first of all satisfy her own palate, then the palates of potential aficionados. Calle 23 is a highland tequila from Jalisco. Highland tequilas are known for their sweetness. Sophie distils each expression separately (Blanco, Reposado, Añejo) using combinations of different yeasts. This is very unusual. The Anejo is 100% agave and matured for 16 months in oak casks.

A Rifter is much like that of a forager or a fossicker from the early gold mining era; they explored the rifts around the hills of Arrowtown, searching for that elusive nugget. At the end of a long day, a refreshing gin was always welcomed.

Rifters is a small batch boutique gin. Handcrafted in New Zealand using flavourful botanicals and pure New Zealand artesian water. Made to be enjoyed in good company.

Rifters bottle represents those used by the foragers and fossickers of the Arrowtown founders. The search for it took them to the Arrowtown Museum. It was there that they discovered a number of original Dutch gin bottles that had been unearthed in the town’s surrounding hills. Those bottles had been left behind by gold miners over one hundred and fifty years ago. Rifters bottle is a representation of that Arrowtown history, coloured to match the schist in the mountains that surround them in Central Otago.

Rifters was started by a couple of kiwi builders who are pretty fond of gin. One day in the workshop, they decided they might have a nudge at creating their own. A couple of years later and a whole lot of trial, they figured things out.

Tasting Notes: An enhanced dry gin full of botanical flavour, pure, clean and balanced. Citrus forward, with a fresh dry finish.
