Matsui Tottori 700ml (red box)

Matsui has proven itself to be masterful in blending and ageing whisky with both its Kurayoshi and Tottori collections and is now stepping confidently into the world of whisky distillation with its single malt collection entitled, ‘The Matsui.’

Blending only the best malt and grains, combined with the fresh spring water from the streams of Mount Daisen provides a refreshing finish. Aged for 3 years in toasted oak barrels. 

Bright golden yellow, it has an elegant and balanced nose of ripe fruit, spices and wood. Rich and complex on the palate with floral notes that leave room for more evolved aromas of vanilla and chocolate. Slightly sweet and oaky finish.

Recommended to serve with ice or to make the Highball long drink.

ABV: 43% 

Barrel ageing has infused Sanin with a faint vanilla aroma and fruity notes of pear on the finish. The fresh, underground water of Mount Daisen delivers a smooth, mellow taste in this light and refreshing whisky.

An exceptional Matsui Shuzo Blended Japanese Whisky from the esteemed Japan distiller, The San-In Blended Whisky is a high-quality Blended Japanese Whisky bottled at 40% ABV. Renowned for its distinctive Whiskey character and one of the finest, most discernible styles produced in Japan, this 700ml iteration of The San-In Blended Whisky represents the height of Blended Japanese Whisky excellence.

A single malt whisky distilled in the rich, natural environment of Tottori and rested in Mizunara casks.  Combined with the malt aroma and rich flavour of unblended whisky, a faintly sweet, aged aroma tickles the nose with a smooth yet rich, lingering aftertaste.  This masterpiece, carefully crafted with heart and passion, is brought to proof with high-quality natural spring water from Mt. Daisen.  In order to maintain the integrity of the whisky, no artificial coloring is added.

GlenDronach is, quite simply, the go to distillery for sherry aged whiskies. This large, imposing Victorian distillery makes whisky to match and some of their single cask offerings are as dark as night and like drinking liquid Xmas pudding and crêpes suzettes.

This is the archetypal 12 year old, aged in ex-oloroso and PX sherry casks. The nose is rich and lifted with honey, caramel, treacle, vanilla sugar and prunes dominating. The palate is rich and rounded with dried fruit, sultanas and milk chocolate. A fantastic all-round whisky and a must for the cabinet at home.

Two Tone refers to the two kinds of cask used for the maturation of this whisky; European oak which formerly held New Zealand red wine and American white oak used exclusively for whisky. 

Find sea air and caramelised fruits on the nose, followed by red berries, apricot and spice on the palate. In place of an age statement the infinity symbol marking this bottling is symbolic of the marriage of casks.

No colouring

40% ABV

The set up at Talisker produces a highly individual new make which mixes smoke, fruit, sulphur, salt and pepper. The malt is medium-peated, the worts clear and the fermentation long, but distillation is atypical with minimal copper contact, plenty of reflux and the use of worm tubs. The result is a heavier style of malt which lends itself nicely to a coastal influence and a smoky peat that is definitely there, but not too heavy.

Nose: A fresh and fragrant nose. Through pungent smoke comes sweet pear and apple peels, with pinches of maritime salt from kippers, seaweed.

Palate: It's a bonfire of peat crackling with black pepper, with a touch of brine and dry barley. A welcome delivery of orchard fruit provides a delicate and beautiful balance.

Finish: In a long finish, bonfire embers toast malt and crystallise a sugary underlay.

Yellow with golden highlights. Vibrant with notes of melon, figs, toffee and lemon. A balanced mix of dry fruits, citrus, vanilla, spice and cloves. Long finish with sweetness in harmony with dry tannins from the woods.

This single malt from the Yamazaki distillery is full of red berry notes gained from the whisky's maturation in Bordeaux wine and Sherry casks. It also features malt matured in Mizunara casks which add subtle fragrant oak notes.

This whisky ages for 15 years in oak casks before it is finished, as the name suggests, in Limousin French Oak (the same kind that is used for many Cognacs). Expect rich notes of fruit, almonds and sweet spice.

Suntory Chita 700ml

The Chita is the only grain whisky produced and bottled as such by Suntory. It is a blend of single grains (mainly corn), relatively young, but with strong tasting characteristics that have been aged in different types of casks, and distilled at the Chita distillery located a few kilometers from Nagoya city.

Its rich and complex aromatic profile strongly marked by fruity, woody and spicy notes, is close to that of the American whiskies, known as the famous Bourbons whiskies. 

Bottled at 43% of the volume in a bottle with the typical Suntory shape, The Chita is a tribute to the know-how of the grain distillery whose name in traditional Japanese calligraphy is now, like the other distilleries of the group, proudly displayed on the label.
