Triple distilled then matured for over eighteen years. The result: a refreshing Lowland Single Malt whisky with the added infusion of ripe citrus and green tea, the warmth of toasted almonds and the signature smooth, delicate Auchentoshan taste.
Not strictly a Japanese whisky, Togouchi sources grain whiskies from Scotland and Canada and ages them in Japan.
This is a blend from Chugoku Jozo, who mature their whiskies in a tunnel rather than a warehouse. The temperature of the tunnel is always 15 degrees while the temperature of the cellar at the headquarters in Hatsukaichi city is a little higher than that. Nutty, spicy whisky with a lovely butterscotch mouth feel. On the palate it expresses vanilla sweetness and a fine peat iodine, with hazelnuts and chocolate on the finish. Almost feels like a whisky/bourbon hybrid.

The notes say to expect the distillery's typical clean, crisp, fruity barley but in a mouthcoating, syrupy, even sugary style with a touch of citrus tang. Non chill filtered at 48.4%. 260 bottles from a refill hogshead.
Nose: Clean and crisp, sweet and spiced, gristy and honeyed.... so fresh and fruity.
Palate: Deliciously mouthcoating in syrupy, sugary style - warming spice and runs to barley.
Finish: Gently toasted developing to allspice, tangy citrus notes and Malted barley (FHL).

Crafted using an unconventional mash bill of 95% corn and 5% malted barley that has been triple distilled and matured initially in ex-bourbon casks before being given extra maturation for a further four years in ex-Bordeaux Red Wine Casks. Distilled on the Isle of Skye at Talisker distillery, this release was launched as an exclusive for the travel retail market. This expression was put down to mature in ex-bourbon casks for an undisclosed length of time before being bottled at a strength of 45.8% abv.

It spent a decade in a single refill hogshead REF - DL13774, and was bottled by Douglas Laing in November 2019 with an outturn of 384 bottles at 48.4% ABV.
Nose: Big and richly defined in Malted barley, gentle spices and fruit.
Palate: Hits big with cereal, honey, vanilla and even a hint of salt.
Finish: Dark molasses mix interestingly with all the aforementioned (FHL).
Still owned by Ian Macleod, this Southern Highlander is noted for its emphasis on sherry casks and unpeated malt. The trio hand selected three principal cask types to explore the influence of wood and cask seasoning on the flavour and character of our whisky.
First-fill sherry seasoned Spanish oak butts, first-fill sherry seasoned American oak casks and first-fill bourbon barrels and hogsheads were combined and a small number of refill casks added to provide a degree of softness to the whisky’s final flavour.
The "deep russet coloured spirit is said to have aromas of 'Seville oranges, coriander seeds, crème brûlée, cloudy honey, lightly peated with a hint of rose'. On the palate, it is said to have notes of “orange peel, apricots, cumin, vanilla and light smoke”.

Palate: Malty, vanilla, Christmas spices and freshly cracked black pepper.
Finish: Christmas spices, milk chocolate and vanilla cream.
