Introduced as the flagship Port Charlotte expression produced by Bruichladdich in 2018, this 10 year old single malt from the Isle of Islay is a lip-smackingly smoky number indeed. It's peated to 40ppm, and drawn from a combination of first-fill American whiskey casks, second-fill American whiskey casks and second-fill French wine casks.

Nose: Salted caramel brownie, flamed orange peel, a hearty whack of seaweed.

Palate: Oak-y smoke and salty sea air, paired with sweeter notes of Custard Cream biscuits and white grape.

Finish: Ginger snaps, rye toast, drying peat smokiness.

This light and fruity expression is finished for eight months in Port pipes from Porto Cruz, the N°1 Porto company in the world. The spirit picks up intense embellishments of summer fruit, dark chocolate and cinnamon and a distinct pink hue.

Master of Malt - Monkey Shoulder Scotch is a superb blended malt whisky from William Grant, made with single malts from three famous Speyside distilleries. The result is a smooth, creamy, supple and very malty Scotch which works superbly well neat, over ice, or in whisky cocktails (where it really excels).

The Dalmore Cigar Malt Reserve benefits from a judicious selection of 10-15 year old stocks drawn from casks of three types: American white oak ex-bourbon casks, 30 year old Matusalem oloroso sherry casks from Gonazlez Byass and premier cru Cabernet Sauvignon wine barriques.

Grant's scotch is a classic, well balanced blended whisky.

For all the sherry fans out there we have this 1988 Vintage Auchentoshan. We all know that Auchentoshan are masters at fully triple distilling their whisky but they also mastered the art of sherry maturation here with this expression.

This limited edition Auchentoshan was distilled in 1988 and matured in Spanish oak casks and finished in PX sherry casks.

It was bottled some 29 years later in 2019 at 49.7%.
The resulting whisky has picked up the characteristics so well from the casks used and it is full of rich, sweet butterscotch and caramel flavours.

Selecting similar quantities of contrasting cask types – nine first-fill European sherry seasoned oak hogsheads, eight ex-bourbon hogsheads, and nine refill hogsheads – gives the November 2019 Release of Highland Park 21 Year Old single malt whisky an impressively rounded and unique flavour. As the warm spices and rich dried fruit flavours of the European casks mingle with the sweeter, exotic fruit notes from the ex-bourbon hogsheads, the softer influence of the refill casks finishes off the harmony.

Bottled at its marrying strength of 46%, this exceptionally well-balanced whisky delivers notes of freshly-cut pineapple, ripe mango, juicy pears, sun-dried sultanas, dried exotic fruit, spice market aromas and curls of densely aromatic peat smoke.

Straddling the line bewteen Highland and Lowland Malts - the distillery is in the Highlands, but the warehouse is in the Lowlands. They also reckon they have the slowest distillation in Scotland - grab a bottle and see what slow distillation tastes like. Glengoyne 10 is a lightish, fruit and nut style whisky - they type that will please everyone, but might not blow the socks off a hardened Islay drinker (but that's why we have Ardbeg). Matured in sherry and refill sherry, and bottled at 40%;

This new blend from Adelphi takes its name from long-time collaborator and whisky legend Charles Maclean (MBE), and by pure coincidence, a rocky landmark known as 'Maclean's nose' near the Ardnamurchan distillery. This is an old-fashioned style of blend - a very high proportion of single malt is used (70%) predominantly from the west coast of Scotland, giving this whisky a flavour of burnt citrus peel, sea salt toffee and bonfires by the beach.

Matsui has proven itself to be masterful in blending and ageing whisky with both its Kurayoshi and Tottori collections and is now stepping confidently into the world of whisky distillation with its single malt collection entitled, ‘The Matsui.’

Blending only the best malt and grains, combined with the fresh spring water from the streams of Mount Daisen provides a refreshing finish. Aged for 3 years in toasted oak barrels. 

Bright golden yellow, it has an elegant and balanced nose of ripe fruit, spices and wood. Rich and complex on the palate with floral notes that leave room for more evolved aromas of vanilla and chocolate. Slightly sweet and oaky finish.

Recommended to serve with ice or to make the Highball long drink.

Released as part of The Master's Anthology series from The Glendronach, this decadent single malt spent its time maturing in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The vibrant amber hue is all-natural, and with a higher strength of 50.8% ABV, it's a rich and complex sipper, packed with generous layers of chocolate, coffee, raisins, caramel, and ganache.

Batch #1 of a non-chill filtered single malt at a bold 50% ABV for intensity. Composed from Australian barley and craft brewers’ yeast for extra flavour.

Starward age Fortis in 100% American Oak barrels to give a full, rich taste that enhances the toasty oak and vanilla characters of the whisky. Fortis also boasts juicy red wine characteristics thanks to barrels from mostly Barossa Valley wineries, which once held powerful shiraz and cabernets. Some barrels are charred for complexity, most are fresh, lending Fortis the intense red wine flavours that soaked into the barrel staves. They don’t chill filter this stronger release to closely represent the whisky that comes from the barrel.

A rich, full-bodied flavour balanced with the approachable velvety smoothness Starward whiskies are known for. Expect upfront notes of Madagascan vanilla pod and toasty oak. The palate is all chocolate ganache, cinnamon, quince and Muscadelle raisin with a lingering baking spiced finish.

Spectacular sipped straight and savoured. Or stir it down with vermouth, Campari and orange bitters, or in another classic cocktail.

This is a cracker from Glenfiddich, one of the biggest and arguably most commercial producers of Scottish single malt on the planet. The distillery combines numerous casks including ex-bourbon, ex-sherry and virgin American oak which are married in a solera vat made from hand-crafted Oregon pine. The vat is never fully emptied and keeps growing in complexity.

Oban Little Bay uses whisky matured in refill American oak hogsheads, European oak Sherry casks and refill casks with new ends for this expression before allowing the resultant single malt whisky to marry in small oak casks. This has resulted in a rich whisky with notes of stone fruit, spice and honey.
