Bold, balanced, and full of flavour, our Mountain Gin is made for adventuring. Confident enough to stand on its own, but cooperative enough to work with any tonic you could throw at it, this gin makes a great addition to the team.

Highly recommended for nights around the campfire, and sharing with friends – especially those who don’t think they’re big on gin (spoiler alert; they will be).

Taking it’s inspiration from the ocean, our Wave gin is our take on a more classic style of gin. We wanted to balance our bold Mountain gin with something that gives a nod to what you may be familiar with in a Gin.

At a slightly higher proof of 47% to still maintain a boldness in cocktails, we use sugar kelp to give this gin a touch of sweetness, while being balanced with rose, subtle citrus and liquorice root. The Wave is versatile gin for all your cocktails and great for classic gin lovers.

IMAGINATION - Rhubarb and Raspberry gin is inspired by the New Zealand summer which is when both of these ingredients are at their best.  We gently extract the juice from the rhubarb and raspberries and blend of it with a dry gin designed specifically for this recipe.  The floral aroma of orris root is prominent on the nose with juniper, coriander and manuka maintaining the delicate piney heart of this gin.  Whole New Zealand navel oranges and lemons create a citrus complement to the fruity base with cinnamon, licorice and the orris root ensuring a surprisingly sweet spice finish.

Distilled in the shadow of Edinburgh castle, this gin is crafted from the finest quality grain spirit with a unique blend of Scottish botanicals.

A classic gin with a citrusy nose, subtle notes of heather and bursting of juniper.  Best enjoyed as a classic gin and tonic with a zesty orange twist.

The Doyenne is a gin at the top of its field, flavoured with coconut, lime and lemongrass with pronounced fresh flavours. The Doyenne is fabulous with ice and fresh lime, even a dash of lime soda goes well.

Flavourful and fresh, zesty yet berryful with a long smooth finish.

Rock Rose Gin gets its wonderful flavour from a carefully selected and put together creation of local and traditional botanicals. Each one meticulously chosen for their flavour properties to create the perfect taste.

After fifty five experiments by Martin & Claire the final recipe was chosen to give a wee taste of Caithness and the very first batch was distilled on the 17th August 2014.

Orbium is a reimagining of Hendrick's Gin by our Master Distiller, Lesley Gracie. Instilled with additional extracts of quinine, wormwood and blue lotus blossom, the result is an oddly exquisite gin that sits roundly on the palate.

Hastings Distillers was formed in 2019 by Kate Galloway and David Ramonteu, an inspiring couple with a background in winemaking and an artistic philosophy of production. Their award winning spirits are inspired as much by artists such as Tolstoy, Steiner and Tuwhare as by their scientific backgrounds in winemaking. The pair created the wine brands Alluviale and DaDa in a prior lifetime, before travelling through Europe and decided to marry distillation with therapeutic herbs. Biogro Certified 

Hastings Distillers commitment to organics is shown in their Biogro certification, ensuring all aspects of their production (botanicals, alcohol, water, packaging) has been checked, audited and certified by New Zealand’s largest certification agency. 

Packaging

The transparent seal on their bottles is made from environmentally friendly, compostable cellulose. The bottles themselves and label paper are made by long established European manufacturers under EU environmental regulations.

‘London Dry’

Historically, the term London Dry relates to the production methods. This dictates that the Gin must be made from pure 96% ABV neutral spirit of agricultural origin, all botanical flavour must be imparted through distillation and nothing can be added after, the Gin must be dry. While their Gins adhere to the law governing this term, they are a modern, unconventional interpretation of the classical style.

Tasting note: A complex and perfumed Gin containing 38 botanicals. Batch distilled in our 150L Arnold Holstein still and cut to strength with Kaweka spring water. Top notes of lime leaf, white currant, cedar, mango and floral hints. Exotic spice brings warmth and persistence to the palate.

Serving note: Perfect for an exotic Gin and Tonic or on ice as a sipping Gin. Used in cocktails, Albertine adds an ethereal dimension.

All Hastings Distillers products are certified organic with BioGro New Zealand. 

Royal Dock Gin represents the style of Gin supplied by the family and previous generations under the mark "Senior Service Gin" to both the Royal Navy and the trade from 1863. Its robust and bright profile with an enhanced aromatic nose had great appeal amongst the highest ranks of the Navy.

Based in London, they delivered to the Royal Victoria Yard at the Royal Dock, the largest of the three Admiralty Victualling Boards which was the headquarters for the food and drinks provisions. Gin along with Rum was an essential part of the cargo.

This Navy Strength Gin at 57% vol was the strength required to enable gunpowder to still light if gin was spilt on it. Senior Service Gin was the nickname for the Royal Navy and the original name for this gin. The colour scheme has endured but not so the antiquated nickname. 

Tasting Note 

Nose: Royal Dock Gin has a characteristic, bright and robust gin style, to be expected from the Navy Strength spirit, and yet retains its citrus, juniper and refreshing floral hints on the nose. 

Palate: This intense but smooth gin retains a balance of juniper, coriander, orange and lemon peel with mineral and spicy hints and a slightly sweet warmth. 

Finish: The lingering juniper and citrus flavours mingle with the other botanicals to leave a warm, faintly floral and honey finish.

The latest release from New Zealand's biggest distillery! 

Scapegrace's new "Blood Moon" gin is one of the most exciting releases in the New Zealand spirit world for quite some time. This incredible gin's profile is truly unique, combining both dried and fresh botanicals to create a jaw dropping and refreshing Blood Orange gin.

Sourced in Tauranga, the Blood Oranges provide a lovely floral, sweet, and slightly tart finish. Raspberries gathered from the Tasman region provide a natural jam-like sweetness. To round it all off, subtle Kaffir Limes from Gisborne provides a very welcome fragrance, and a sharp lingering finish.

Island Gin's award winning gin, nicknamed "Shark Alley" strength. At 57% it is not for the faint hearted.

Crafted in a copper still, off grid, 5 hours by barge off the coast of New Zealand.

Their unique bottles are designed to reflect a Kina shell and are all made in New Zealand using using a sustainable glass production.

IMAGINATION - Distilled in an  8 plate fractionating column still.  Juniper and coriander are complemented by the leafy earthiness of manuka to create the heart of this gin.  Whole New Zealand oranges and lemons add a refreshing citrus aroma and cinnamon and licorice leave a sweet lingering spice finish.

Scapegrace - Welcome to the brave new world 13 botanicals, natures wild apostles.  Water, torn from the New Zealand Southern Alps.  A whiskey still, 19th century.  This is how Scapegrace signs its name around the world.  Velvet profile.  Citrus forward.  Clean finish.  A product of New Zealand.

Smooth tones of Guajillo Chilli, steeped to bring out savoury, chocolatey tones and balanced with candied jalapeno heat for a spicy finish. This gin is all the good things of spice balanced by the freshness of juniper and citrus. Great for balancing out sweet mixers and as a way to spice up classic cocktails.

An unabashedly new wave gin, where orange and lemon take the Oscar for best supporting actor.

Your first note will be bold citrus which gives way to soft juniper, finally flowing into a welcome ginger note that tails off and leaves you with the anticipation of taking your next sip.

Pot distilled to maximise the flavour, using the authentic London Dry method - with only water added after distillation.

This gin can be enjoyed on ice, or if you fancy G&T's then it's recommended to pair with East Imperial Yuzu Tonic, Grapefruit Tonic or Grapefruit Soda. The recommended garnishes are a fresh lime slice, celery cut or fresh mint/lemon balm. It goes equally well in a cocktail too, to make the ultimate versatile gin.
